Regens Mental Stats

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I know there are a couple of posts on similar topics. But some are for older versions and I felt like a fresh discussion wouldn't be any harm.

I just wanted to chat abut regens/newgens and how the HOYD impacts on their mental stats. I've had some good plays come through my club over the course of my game. But in the last 2/3 season the workrate and determination of my players has been shocking, and there has been a shortage of decent midfielders. This also coincides with me changing my HOYD, or rather taking the role off my DOF. I was wondering how the stats and personality of my HYDO might be impacting on the mental stats of the players. Or just for people to share recent expirerencs in this regard.

For example in yer games at what point do you sacrifice determination for judging play potential. And does JPA matter at all? Does a HOYD's playing style matter?

What strategy do ye feel is best?

Personally, key mental stats such as determination matters more than the JPA as I prefer to have a player with high determination and mid-high stats to a player with high stats but a low determination.

Although, if you have a squad with high determination, youth players who come through with low determination can be tutored quite easily and that determination can be improved quite easily.

It seems in your case the change of HOYD has impacted your youth recruitment quite considerably

I always hire a HOYD with a decent personality as it has a chance to impact the personalities of your regens coming through youth.

Can any one confirm that HOYD stats like determination would have any effect on regens determination etc?

My logical guess would be that he influences determination, but nothing else, because it's unique in doubling-up as both a mental and personality attribute.

It would be nice to get this confirmed truely, as i dont think it would have any impact on the regens coming through youth. Atleast in my experience.

If a regen do have high mental stats, like determination, i had always thought it was due to their personalities. Regens with resolute or professionel etc, tend to have higher mental stats.

The HoyD & I believe other youth staff can influence the personalities of younger players at generation & possibly throughout their development, they can also be influenced by the senior pro's at the club so if you have a team of unprofessional trouble makers or players who lack the ability to perform under pressure it's is more likely that some of your youth players can develop those same traits during their development.
