CFuller Posted April 28, 2016 Share Posted April 28, 2016 I'm currently setting up an annual knockout World Cup, containing 224 national teams, to replace other international tournaments. It's going well, but I've encountered some issues, and I'd like some advice from other users with more experience when it comes to creating/editing competitions. This is the tournament format I've set up in the basic rules, where nations enter at certain stages according to their world ranking: Preliminary Round: 64 teams ranked 161st and below enter First Round: Teams ranked 129th-160th enter + 32 winners from previous round Second Round: Teams ranked 97th-128th enter + 32 winners from previous round Third Round: Teams ranked 65th-96th enter + 32 winners from previous round Fourth Round: Teams ranked 33rd-64th enter + 32 winners from previous round Fifth Round: Teams ranked 1st-32nd enter + 32 winners from previous round And then it's straight knockout from the Sixth Round (last 32) onwards. This format works fine with basic rules, by which I mean teams enter when they should do. However, when I switch to advanced rules in the editor, and make no further changes, it all goes wrong. I get a lot of the really big teams (and England) entering in the Preliminary Round. It was easy to "seed by world ranking" in the basic rules, but I cannot for the life of me find this option anywhere in the advanced rules. I went to My Competition's Name > Qualified Teams, and then I chose these options: Get Best National Teams, 224, World Ranking (ascended), Reverse the order of teams in this list, All teams get the same seeding, 0 I've now got the first part of the competition - the qualifying stage - working as I want it to. Now, onto the second part - the finals stage, from the last 32 onwards. I want to set up a fixed tournament bracket, similar to the one I've disclosed below. I'd like the 16 highest-ranked teams left in the competition to be 'seeded' to avoid one another in the last 32, where they'd be randomly drawn against any of the lower-ranked teams.
