Dafuge Challenge help

Hello gents, I have been trying to improve at FM this year so I am trying the dafuge challenege in order to push me to the next level.

After aquiring a team I often find it hard to fill up my roster because my knowlege of actual football is limited because I simply do not follow soccer too much irl. The teams that are recently promoted usually have few players and the rest are greyed out and because of this I have no idea who to sign to improve my teqm. In addition, I do not know what I should be pushing to achieve in the first few seasons.

Tldr; who do I sign for LLM.

Try the GP&TG forum for help with lower league signings although it does defeat the point of a challenge if you do look for the easy option of signing players who are known to be the best.

First of all, when setting up your database for a dafuge challenge save pay attention to the instructions, more specifically to this part

Just like previous years, the players for the newly playable clubs need to be added which can be done using the 'advanced' option on the database size. The players from the three feeder league have to be added, which looks like this. You can also add anything else you like to increase the size of the database, for example like this.

This should give you a full squad of players at most eligible clubs from the start. Signing players at that level is a crapshoot. Use the director of football 'suggested players' feature (under 'transfers' tab) and ask for players available on a free, then take as many of them on a four week trial as you can, as it is the only way of revealing attributes of a large group of players (you won't have enough scouts and the ones you have won't be good enough). Play a lot of friendlies. Use the suggested players feature to find players available to loan. They are hard to scout but you should find one or two who are useful. Good luck.
