damplu
At first sorry for my English. I bought Lanzini in season 17/18 to Arsenal from Al Dzazira. He played in WHU in season 15/16. Every my request of work permit was rejected. Now in season 18/19 my request was rejected too. Why? What is wrong?
Welshace
Every time a player enters into a new contract a new WP is needed, so whether he had one before is irrelevant.. He didn't get one because he hasn't met the specifics needed in order to qualify for one... more than likely that he hasn't played for his country enough ( or at all knowing Lanzini) in recent enough games. You will need to loan him out to a club in order to gain an EU nationality or at least play some games so he may get into the national side and gain reputation. Guest
UK work permit criteria for professional footballers Will be honest & admit that I haven't tested whether SI have the full set of rules in game but I'd be surprised if they didn't at least have the primary criteria in place but I can see how some of the appeals criteria might not be in FM16. Edit: Interestingly there is no longer an exceptional talent exemption, think I'll be giving this a thorough test.
BoxToBox
I thought Lanzini had an Italian passport?

He played in Sparta Prague in 17/18 season on loan now I loaned him to Montpellier. I'm waiting to another request of his work permit.
Adzke
I thought Lanzini had an Italian passport? He does. EDIT: Apparently this is something that's been "looked into" for six months - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/439581-Lanzini-s-work-permit-rejected-should-have-Italian-passport

Guest
I imagine the cause & any potential fix are more complex than we would expect, at least I hope so as he does have his second nationality listed in the database.
BoxToBox
Yup, just checked my current save, and he has Italian nationality.
damplu
In my game he has only Argentinian nationality.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted May 3, 2016 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2016 If he has a second nationality he won't need a WP. If he does that's a bug and raise it in the bugs forum. I'd imagine that depending on the database he does or doesn't as information may have come to light suggesting he has or hasn't got this second nationality. Even if he's played all the games, due to the criteria in place about players playing in national team matches, if he's not appeared in a certain percentage of games for his international side (percentage is decided by the club's FIFA World Ranking - you need less appearances for a high ranked team) he will not get a work permit on renewal. The rules are a lot harsher than before and given the rules haven't really been 'tested' yet in real life, the game has to go exactly how the rule book describes it.
