weelouis123
I am managing a semi-professional side in the Icelandic Premier Division - newly promoted, Liekner F. Since the club is not professional, is that the reason why I cannot scout anywhere but Iceland. If not, what can I do to increase my scouting range? KUBI
You can make a request to your board, but it will be usually turned down, which is quite realistic due to the lack of funds.
weelouis123
Okay, what board request would I make because I can only decrease my scouting range.
SuperDan!
Okay, what board request would I make because I can only decrease my scouting range. You need a couple of good seasons, both on the pitch and financially, behind you. Once you're stable financially and making profit and your club is doing well, request to become professional. Once this is done, start going a bit further in Europe and then your scouting range will continue to increase. Did this with Keflavik.
podunkboy
You can bring players in on trial, but that's up to them whether they want to travel to Iceland. At lower amateur/semi-pro levels, you have to accept that the majority of your marquee players are going to be cast-offs and loans from higher clubs and anyone who shows signs of promise is going to be poached. Success comes down to tactics, squad management of the constant turnover, and lots of luck. On the upside, your squad will be awash with home-grown talent.
