Unemployment Rags to Champions League Riches

Many of you may be wondering why I do not have Football Manager 2016, and am instead playing on FM15, well the reason for that is I actually cannot purchase it as I have had issues with my Steam account, but I still wanted to produce one of these rags to riches types of story. Hence, why I am here.

This is my first Rags to Riches in any Football Manager and in this I will hope to be taking my manager from the bottom of Football Management to Champions League success, the pinnacle of global football.

In this series, I will also look to stop by and give detailed match reports from each month, as well as any additional signings of players of staff plus a quick look at the league table to see how we are doing.

I have selected all of the available nations on the initial database, and included all of the leagues available in order to try make it a lot harder to reach my ultimate goal. It will also include a large database, with approximately 167,000 players loaded. I have loaded the game at the earliest point, which takes us back to November 2013. (My OCD kicked in).

I have also made my Manager have the worst available coaching attributes, in order to make this as difficult a challenge as possible.

Finding a Job

Since I am unemployed, the natural thing to do is to apply for every single job that was available from the word Go!. There were around about 60 available jobs for me, so I am positive that I will be given plenty of selection of which managerial position I will want.

And after grinding through many interviews and basically giving the exact same response every answer, I managed to get a job at ...

BW-90 IF

A bit of a background of the club, they are in the Swedish Second Division, and are predicted to finish 9th. With very little resources, they are a club that will be hard to win the title, but I feel that if I match the board's exceptions of a mid-table finish then we can look for promotion next year.

Players

Oh dear!Screen%20Shot%202016-06-05%20at%207.53.28%20PM_zpsc4ordhz1.png

Before I get in-depth here, we are going to need a lot of spending in the defensive areas. Uh-oh!

Goalkeepers

The two goalkeepers we have available look fairly decent, as Robin Armandt looks like a quality keeper for our division and possibly the best player in our team. While, Paulinus Oriza looks like a decent back-up. Possibly looking at another back-up in case injuries start to pop up.

Defenders

Oh dear. We definitely will be needing an entire defence during the off-season, and with not much money to play with, it may be a season where Robin will be in with many tough days at the office. Nothing really else to comment on except, Improvement!

Midfielders

If we are thinking of playing a 4-2-3-1 Wide formation this year, we will need some better players on the wide flanks as this is where the formation is its deadliest. Joakim Perrson looks like a solid play, who will probably be our box-to-box midfielder running everywhere. Trying to emulate N'Golo Gante.

Kojo Annor looks like a decent Left Attacking Midfielder, but I think I will be predominantly be playing him at Striker, therefore wide players are a must.

Strikers

We have a very good selection of strikers, and therefore we should not be wasting any of our money up here, especially considering the state of our defence.

As mentioned above, Kojo Annor looks like he could be a huge player this season for us and hopefully he will bang in plenty of goals for us.

Formation

Note: Ignore all of the players out of position for now as this is clearly not what our team will be looking like for our first fixture, but I just wanted to give you guys a brief overview.

Our formation is a fairly routine one, where we will be having our centre backs staying quite deep in order to snuff out any crosses, as these are very OP in Football Manager 15, while our wing backs will be bombing off either side trying to assist with the attacking side off things while still being solid in defence. Our midfielders will be two work-houses with the Box-to-box midfielder more of the defenseive minded of the two.

We have good attacking threats therefore this formation should hopefully be very useful for us, and we should look to be out-scoring the opponents most games even if we are conceding plenty at the back.

Our instructions make us play a very, fast style of football which will probably take my players a lot of time to get used to the fitness levels needed to make this system effective.

Staff

We don't have any specific coaches and this is something which I will look to be doing, as I want the limited players we have available to grow and blossom into decent players.

That looks like all for now guys, I'm off to purchase an entire defence and if anyone wants to let me know some decent players that may help me, please feel free to reply. (Also, coaches as well would be helpful also).

See you after the pre-season!
