Conan21
So I have quite a few players in my team who, on their day, can be incredible. However consistency is the key to winning titles. If I want to improve a players consistency how would I go about that? Through coaching? Game time?
THOG
The actual consistency attribute can be improved slightly if a player is given game time and has good performances.
Dr. Hook
I have seen the consistency attribute improve a good bit on young players- I had a young CB recently that went to from very inconsistent in his coach report to no reportmention of it at all over the course of about 6 seasons, so in numbers that would probably be a several point increase- 4 to 10 or something like. Once they are developed though (24+) it doesn't seem to move much if at all. But Conan do your coaches mention the consistency being poor on those players as there could be any number of things happening besides a consistency rating. Egecann
It can improve with tutoring i guess but not very sure

Yeah the coaches mention it in their reports. The players are on the younger side, I want to give them game time to improve but they are affecting the results of the team adversely. i understand the game is incredibly complex and one thing can have a knock on effect to another attribute so I know it's not all just down to the consistency attribute. i think going forward I'll really take into consideration the scouts report if it states that they are inconsistent. I managed to sign Gary Gardner, once of Aston Villa, for my League 2 Leamington side; a fantastic signing and costing a hefty amount of wages. Attribute wise he is pretty much Championship level but is far too inconsistent to even be a L2 player!

I always look at that when signing a player as it is a gamble whether it will improve enough or even at all- if you see it in an older player, run!
