Bunkerossian
In all of my many failures to get a successful save going, I think I've, at last isolated one problem. My players do not attack an opponent with the ball, when he is right next to them. Is this a lack of a particular attribute (my first thought was Aggression), or something else? I have fairly aggressive defensive midfielders and central defenders, though. Would activating Get Stuck In work well here, or should I set individual tackling intensity to Hard? I am aware of the card risk, but I do not mind it.
pedrosantos
For what I have been able to observe, some players stand a bit far away from their opponent and take too long to react even if they have closing down at maximum and zonal mark tighter. More frequent with FB slot and AMR / AML slot, other players are quite keen on closing down mostly in the central areas of the pitch.
hoppo1982
Could be a number of things - Their decision making for example. If the player in question has a high decision making attribute and faces up to the opponent he may wish to delay the attack if hasn't sufficient cover behind him. The principle of defending is delay so they could be trying to slow the attack down.
THOG
Low closing down, deep defensive line or a defensive mentality would be tactical causes. Lack of defensive cover behind him would be a situational cause.
