Powermonger
Over the years with the improvements to tactics and the way they are created, the tactic overview screen has lost a bit of visual information, especially now that positions are role and duty based. With such a myriad of roles for different positions and the way they behave, at a glance the tactic screen you have no visual clues of how the select roles are going to behave unless you know them inside out from watching the match engine. While the Team Instructions and Player Instruction screens are now much more graphically based in representing settings, the actual tactic screen has lost out somewhat in visual clues. I'd like to see an alternative tactical analysis view that when switched to shows you the expected movements of the positions based on their current role & duty. This is a bit of a throwback to past FM editions but the arrow placements are not changeable and drawn by the role/duty system. It would also be more representative to how football sites analyse teams and present them to readers. Simplified example: Or real life analysis example: As you change a position's role and duty then movement arrows would come and go. It could be expanded further by toggling different views to show different Player Instructions set so at an overall glance you can have a good picture of what position has what instructions via graphical indicators (i.e passing directness, dribbling etc). I think SI have moved in the right direction it terms of using more graphics for setting representation, I would like them to take it a step further.
