veerus
I'm scouting a player who is 22 years old and my scouts are telling me that his CA and PA are 5! Except his actual stats are worse by a significant margin than everyone else on the team in his position. Are my scouts drunk? Has he already peaked? Should I sign him? SI Staff Alari Naylor Posted August 11, 2016 SI Staff Share Posted August 11, 2016 If is CA is 5* and he is substantially worse that sounds a bit suspect.
bhartehome
It's not clear cut - I've had strikers scoring at a phenomenal level with less than perfect stats. I'd look at his history for corroboration. If he's a poacher who isn't scoring at least one in two matches don't sign him. Similarly for midfielders with goals and assists - look for assists in the teens (from a full season) before signing. And so on. Look for consistency. A real find of a goal scorer will be scoring at decent level from their debut as a teenager. TL;DR I use CA/PA and the player stats as a filter and the history to make the final decision
