Moving from a semi pro status to a professional staus

Recommended Posts

Morning folks,

Playing in my save im currently managing a semi-pro club, but what im wondering seeing as there isnt much cash about how to you raise your teams status form semi pro to professional?

So far ive had two requests refused and it looks likely not to happen in the near future somewhat.

Any suggestions/tips lads?

Cheers for now.

You need a lot of money to cover the cost of going professional.

Players will expect double/triple their current part time wage to cover giving up any other potential jobs they have to go full time.

In past versions a figure often mentioned was around £1m in the bank.

No money in the bank & losing money each month already, its not a good sign.

You have no chance of turning professional until you make the club profitable and build up a nest egg.

TBH at that level you are best sticking to being semi pro in the short term, try to get into Europe and pick up a little prize money which you save towards turning professional years down the line.

Last time I managed in Wales which was a few versions ago TNS were the only regular pro team.  Bangor City see-sawed between pro & semi pro every five years or so while I'm not sure if we ever turned pro even after winning the title and getting into Europe regularly, albeit never making a group stage.

Yeh was thinking that myself,i think il try renegotiate the contracts possibly with as litte add-ons as possible as i think thats where the cash is going..

Problem is you cant seem to sell players for an actual fee to start the building process it seems.

In leagues like Wales, you just have to plod on as semi-pro until you manage to get into Europe on a regular basis and get just far enough for a good payoff. Of course normally the round just before the money increases dramatically you draw someone significantly out of your league so it takes a few seasons of grabbing £200K or so.
