Looking for a new Challenge

Not sure if this is the right place for this so if not please feel free to move it.

I have been a CM/FM player since about CM3 and love the game. This year however due to some stuff going on at home I dont think I will be able to get FM17. Due to this im looking at starting a new save right now but I have no idea what to do.

Im looking for something Pretty Long term. Something along the lines of the San-Marino Challenge however I have done this before so after something different. I am open to Club/Country or something somewhere obscure e.g Belarus.

If anyone could give me some suggestions on a Long term save that is something a little bit different I would really appreciate it.

I once started as an ex-pro with Hungarian nationality and got a job in Slovenia. I had all the Eastern European leagues loaded along, with some major Western European nations, with my goal to succeed in the East and land a big job in the West. I spent some years at Koper before being taken on by Dynamo Kiev and it was a memorable save.

I also did a save in the second tier of Romania some years ago. I think it's just fun to go somewhere we don't know about.

For that same reason you could try Asia or South America and just load leagues for that region.

I also love playing Norway for some reason. It's a surprisingly fun league.

 

I suppose, if truth be told, those ideas might not be all that different from the run of the mill usual saves, so how about international management? One of the fun little diversions I tried in past FMs was to manage all the British home nations in the same game and then moved on to managing a nation from each continent in one save. I had something like Australia, India, Canada and Kenya going at the same time, so a sort of British colonial challenge.

But I think my most fun challenge was the small nations one. The object of the challenge was to pick one of the lowest ranked nations (over 150 ranking) in the world and try to raise your world ranking as high as you could. My first choice was the Central African Republic and I got quite a few years with next to no success, mainly because I only ever had one keeper (and he wouldn't get in the Dog and Thistle 2nd Eleven in the Harrogate Sunday League). I then tried my hand with Madagascar (though I think they're a little better than 150+ these days). It was a challenge someone devised in the challenge forums, but you really needed a big database to get the players to be available. Saying that, this was some years ago (maybe 2010) so it might be a challenge that is a lot more possible these days.

Well, just a few ideas. It would mostly depend on how you play the game now. If starting unemployed with low reputation is different than your normal games then you might enjoy trying that. Have a big journeyman save with as many leagues as you can load. It's what I do every year and you never know what will happen, plus it can last you till FM18.
