Editing Playoff Seeding USL

Aerosol

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, apologies for the n00b question but here goes:

I have a save going with the "USA addon" (i think I found it on Football Manager Now but it may have come from the Steam workshop), and I am playing in the USL (America's 3rd division). There are eastern and western conferences and following the regular season, the 8 top teams in the league table from each conference play in a tournament. However, the seeding is off, for example whereas the top team seeded 1 should play seed 8 in the first round, the system is configured to pair them off 1v2, 3v4, 5v6, 7v8. Obviously this invalidates the regular season, where much of the point of the competition is to get rewarded by playing weaker seeds in the early playoff rounds.

Is this something that is correctable via the editor?

Would I have to start a new save to see the results?

Thank you in advance

my question is for NASL, Ottawa Fury... wouldnt it be better to have their Academy as their u18 squad or something because as their affiliate they have to pay for their players like a transfer fee where as before you could just sign the player to say an amateur contract?

Use the 'Advanced editor'

For the playoffs stage,

Ensure Reverse Teams is Unticked

For the first round of the playoff stage.

For round defaults:

  • Fixed draw (1v2,3v4 etc.)
  • Don't randomise home and away teams

For the playoffs stage, look at "Teams" on the left hand side.

You will have something similar to:

Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs

Add a 'team index' of 0 (1st place)

Add seven more similar lines for each position so it looks like this:

  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 7 (8th)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 0 (1st)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 6 (7th)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 1 (2nd)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 5 (6th)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 2 (3rd)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 4 (5th)
  • Get Qualified Teams From Stage, league, Playoffs, 3 (4th)

This should be enough.

The order of the numbers is important.
