EnigMattic1
After reading the thread on catenaccio, I have set myself the task of creating a solid formation that incorporates a sweeper, partly due to inspiration from the previously mentioned thread, partly due to the fact that I have never used one before. My question is, however, would it be possible to create a formation that uses a sweeper, wing backs and wingers/inside forwards? The reason I would like to keep those roles is because I have an overlapping setup that I am rather fond of.
Jean0987654321
Anything is possible, mate. You just have to have the right players to play those positions. I guess you wanna play a 1-4-2-2-1? Go for it
Ghents
I've gone back and forth between the sweeper and just a CD on cover duty and there isn't a huge difference. The sweeper obviously sits deeper, but I seem to get more consistent ratings from a straight 3 CB look than 2CB/Sweeper. The latter combo is either like all 8.0's or all 6.6's. I guess if you're not conceding it doesn't really matter.
jozza800
I tried something even more extreme. Using a defender in the DC position then a row of two dms (halfbacks) and two wingbacks in the wingback position. If the DC had a good game he would get insane ratings. It wasn't as suicidal as it sounds. Obviously prone to the ball over the top!
