OLLMEISTER1
Just got wondering, how many people play offline once updates have been downloaded etc? I may be wrong here but does the game run slightly quicker/smoother once offline compared to online?
SeaCarrot
I think that may be placebo on your end. I can't see any reason why It would run any different, the only online features are obviously the online game-modes, cloud saves and the leader-boards. I doubt FM is doing any 'phoning home' so to speak with DRM as you play. I've never noticed a difference when steam is online or offline as I use local saves only as my upload speed is shocking. OLLMEISTER1
Fair play, was just curious as to what percentage play offline as to online and their reasoning's for doing so.
phnompenhandy
Pretty sure it has no effect like you say, but I always play offline. The reason is I hate being caught out by the game updating patches without informing me. One of the reasons is I use Scout Genie and FMRTE in-game editor and when the game updates, the utilities are useless until the makers upgrade them. So basically I prefer to wait a few days, read the discussions about the merits and demerits of the upgrades and have Steam update my game at my convenience. I always play offline and then go online to update patches at my convenience like yourself. I just found playing offline for some reason makes my laptop perform better, although I probably am just reading too much into that.
Kenco
I always play offline. But sometimes my game crashes for no reason and when I start up again, I can't because Steam is doing an update or the steam servers are busy. Hello, I'm supposed to be offline!! Tony Wright 747
I always play offline because my internet goes down on a regular basis, and i don't want that to happen in the middle of a game

Just the time played stat in Steam, it doesn't affect anything per say, I'm just sad enough to care about the amount of time I spend on each version

I just look at Game Status in the game along with the jolly addictiveness rating.
