mhaffy
In the backroom advice section of staff responsibilities you can choose which member of your coaching staff will provide the Pre Match Tactical Advice Summary that gives advice on formation, mentality, shape, player duty combinations and team instructions for your next match. Does the quality of the "advice" given in this report depend upon the attributes of the coach you choose to give it (possibly tactical knowledge, tactics, player ability)? Confirmation of what attributes, if any, affect the quality of the advice would be appreciated.
puffascruffowitz
I never listen to those anyway, but it must be based on their Tactical Knowledge
mhaffy
I agree that logically you would expect tactical knowledge to influence the quality of report and, potentially player ability (ability to give feedback on opposition player quality etc) but would be good to have definitive feedback from SI. Re Data analyst reports apparently no attributes affect quality of report and the tactical report may similarly be the same no matter who you choose to supply it..... puffascruffowitz
Well I know for a fact that having an assistant manager with high tactical knowledge will result in better suggestions for opposition instructions and such so I imagine it would be the same for pre match suggestions. Would be nice to get confirmation.

If he's a new appointment or you brought in loads of players it might take a few weeks.
Ellis_D
I'm like puffascruffowitz, I never listen to them. In fact, I don't even read them, I just click through them and that's it. I know how to manage my team better than anyone. If my assistant manager was better than me, he'd be the one sitting in the hot seat.
mhaffy
I too take such reports with a pinch of salt and make my own decisions on what to do. My question, however, was not whether people pay any attention to such reports but what the relevant attributes were that affect the quality of the advice offered in the reports.......Maybe someone from SI could provide some insight.... DavidRicardo
I don't get any significant advice in the pre-match tactical advice section in my inbox... Only stuff like player fitness concerns and suitable set piece takers... what am I doing wrong? The chosen person for giving this advice has tactical knowledge of 14 and has been in the club for a year...
