stevenvdijk Posted November 1, 2016 Share Posted November 1, 2016 To make mentoring a more dynamic and realistic tool I was thinking it could be an idea to have Leadership playing a role. There are (and have been) great players who are already mentoring young players, even at an age of 22 or 23, because they were captain already at young age or have great leadership capabilities. Hakim Ziyech (23 yr) at the moment at Ajax is clearly stated as mentor for young talents like Nouri and El Ghazi. Also other examples of players under 24 that have been great leaders at early age are for example John Terry, Henderson, Puyol, Seedorf, and so on. Currently when a player is 23 year and 364 days old he is not a suitable mentor, but then one day later he is. Regardless of his capabilities. To make this more realistic there could be a way to link it up with Leadership, as idea 1 point on Leadership equals one month. Age (yrs) - Leaderhip (months) = Mentor age (yr + mnths) 24 - 20 = 22yr + 4 months 24 - 19 = 22yr + 5 months ..... 24 - 13 = 22yr + 11 months 24 - 12 = 23yr 24 - 11 = 23yr + 1 months --- 24 - 1 = 23yr + 11 months Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
