Coxbox
Welcome to East Grinstead Mavericks. You join the story several years in as East Grinstead Mavericks rise to professional football, the date is 2021, you join me several years in. The aim of this story is to show the ups and downs of managing an Amateur side from the bottom to the top. I have a few basic goals for this save, these are: Become Semi Pro. A Balance of £1000,00. First contracted player. Reach FA Cup First Round. New stadium, current ground stands 1000 supporters and cannot be expanded. These goals are easily achievable at the moment as things progress the goals will update, one day I hope I can get this club to the premiership. I am not a FM god however I hope you enjoy this story and inspire you to start your own. 2016-2021/2022 Promotions and Cups As you can see below I have had strait promotions since starting the game and one a few cups, at this level it is easy due to the abuse of pacey players, how ever when I reach the semi pro leagues , this may change as my aim would be to keep the club in the black. Spoiler Current Finances/Club Detail The Club is currently is on a steady footing, we obviously pay no wages and have little expenditure except tax, our income is steady and should increase over the coming years. The balance sits at about £30000, I have found holding 4 friendlies at the start of the season earning £500 a time has been a good income earner as well as cup success helping too. The facilities are poor with the board refusing to update anything including youth and training. The stadium is small, nothing but a field however it as no room for expatiation, I can see the club getting a new ground before reaching pro football. Spoiler Current Squad/Star Players Below is my current squad, at this lvl players are poor, I have learned to use fast physical payers combined with a simple "4-4-2 tactic", this has got be the success so far, the current manager being a club legend. Benjamin and Price are the clubs top goal scorers for the past two seasons. We have had others but due to being Amateur they do not stay long being poached. Spoiler The next update will be at the end of the season, showing the cup and league success and any other club developments. Feel free to comment and offer me advice as well as let me know your progress, have a nice day and thank you for reading.
Coxbox
Welcome to East Grinstead Mavericks. The end of the 2021/2022 season It has been another successfully year for this club winning the treble, with the club being promoted once again. The team dominated the league managing to loose only one game all season, we managed to achieve promotion comfortably in the early new year. Spoiler The club has been progressing nicely, the club finances (£40,000) are healthy with the value of the club increasing to (£60000). Our faculties, well they are as poor as ever , we can upgrade our youth level however this will leave us (- £140000) out of pocket, this is not a good idea financially . I have though been trying to sign an affiliate partnership, though the board can not find a club, though I will keep asking. Spoiler The players at the club have had a good season with the two main attackers getting close to 70 goals between them for the season however one of them has picked up a 2 month injury , he is however 31 years of age so for the next season I will look for a good young replacement. Spoiler * Update* I have decided to find a new striker to replace price, I have found a newgen who has some good stats for this level, I think he may be deadly in front of goal and the best part is he is 17. Spoiler Hopefully this season can be as good as the last one, or aim being to gain promotion lvl 15 awaits. I have also been thinking of a plan for the semi pro leagues, I would like to make a profitable youth system at this lvl as well as work with some spreadsheets to manage the club finances and wages at this lvl, though I still have a few promotions to go yet. Coxbox
Welcome to East Grinstead Mavericks. 2022/2023 So last season was not as strong, we only finished second in the league still achieving promotion, since taking over the club this has been the worst season the club has had. Apart from promotion , nothing major has happened at the club in 12 months, though the club value and balance seem to be increasing steadily. Spoiler Our players played well over the season however our new forward brought in for the new campaign decided to leave mid way through the year, however i was able to resign him after a poor spell at his new club. Spoiler The new season awaits in the Mid Sussex Football League Division Two, we are only a few promotions away now from semi pro football, hopefully I can cross this off of the goals list. Onwards and upwards!
Coxbox
Welcome to East Grinstead Mavericks. 2023/2024 Another season has past this one much better, we have won the league as swell as the Montgomery Challenge Cup The Mid Sussex Football League Championship awaits. The club is progressing nicely the bank balance is up and club value is increasing, other then that there is not much else to discuss the amateur leagues are quick and easy to gain promotion from, however only two more leagues until we hit semi pro.
