Spartak Trigger
Hi Guys,I have started playing round with tactics again as opposed to downloading them and i think i am about 60% of the way to creating something half decentThe tactic is an attacking 442 narrow diamond as shown belowThe plan is to screen the defence with the anchor man, allowing the wing backs to get forward. Mt only player instructions are for the CM s to get forward more and the AP a to hold the ball to stop him dribbling into blind alleys as much.It is working OK but i am fining i am dominating possession, creating a lot of shots but not many CCCs A typical match is also shown belowLike i said it is not broken but i think with a few more changes it could be pretty good. Also i need to try and make a more defensive version but i am struggling with that so any tips on how to modify it would be great alsoThanks for any help! FestyF
1 CCC and 5 half chances seems about right to me. You also have only 4 long shots out of 15 which also doesn't seem excessive. What's the average % of chances your team has created so far? As for the changes, since your formation is already very narrow, try playing with more width to utilize empty spaces more. Your % of passes out of defence (72%) is also lower than midfield (84%) and attack (85%). Try instructing your defenders to play less risky passes which may allow your creative players to have more of the ball, hence creating more quality chances. That should be it for your next match. Changing too many things at a time could confuse your players.

Looking at your tactic here I'm noticing that it seems like your AP(a) is very crowded. The AP wants to create chances for those around him but in this test up I don't think that's happening. You have a DLP underneath him who is also being a creator and wanting the ball from his teammates, and a DLF(s) creating as well. I would suggest turning your AM into someone who can run past your DLF and be fed by your DLP. Because right now I see it as a DLF dropping deep into the space the AP is in, and the DLP(s) wanting the ball to create as much as the AP. So I have 3 ideas for you: 1 - Switch you AM to a player who will get into the box, such as a SS or a flat AM(a) 2 - Switch your DLF into a forward who won't drop deep as much, such as a DLF(a), poacher, or CF. 3- Switch your DLP into a non-creative role and make your AM your side's main creator. Do one of these or a number of these, but think about where your players are going with the roles given them and who is creating and where they're creating.
