EnzoAmata
What to when your forwards numbers are only decent at being a TM but in games he's getting dominated. What are some shortcuts or suggestions to help hm get that space he needs?

OhHoopedOne
Maybe it's about height because I have used christian benteke as target man support in a two with Loic Remy/Lautaro Martinez for Palace and, at times, has been so successful it almost seems like a cheat code when all else fails. It seems especially dangerous when used in a defensive structered 4_3_1_2 with direct passing against a 4_2_3_1, maybe this is partly due to the man between the lines and the fact nobody picks him up but benteke wins so many headers from crosses supplied by galloping cwbs. I have also used him as a deep lying forward in a 4_1_2_3 wide where he also wins more than his fair share of headers and is almost unplayable with his backb to goal, sliding balls in for the two inside forwards
enigmatic
Target men don't get space very often: opposition defenders know that you're playing through them and tight mark them The general rule is they do a lot better when positioned so that they're mostly competing for the ball with the opposing centre back that's less good at jumping than them.
