Prefered formation does change overtime?

When I first started my save with Arsenal, I set my prefered formation to the 'infamous' 4-2-3-1 wide, and I play that way for the whole two seasons. Now I'm in my 3rd season, and it just got to the point that I'm so bored I download tactic from Fussigate, which is 4-1-2-3 DM. 

I've just notice that my prefered formation had changed from 4-2-3-1 wide to 4-1-2-3 DM just because I play Fussigate from like September or so till New Year's match. 

This makes me wondered, if AI staff's prefered formation does also change overtime?

The preferred formations of the AI managers can change when they move jobs. And by extension, i think other staff do too, especially when they get new jobs.

I'm sure that the manager's preferred does change though. It even happens in FM 2014. So that's not new.

you can check if an AI manager changed formation by clicking his profile, under achievements/other tab. Every time they switch formations it's noted there.

They also change formations if they are managing a big club and underperforming.
