Hilly27 Posted November 29, 2016 Share Posted November 29, 2016 Utterly shocked to hear the tragic news today of the plane crash which has killed, as far as we know so far, most of the Chapecoense team. I mention it in this forum because this team resonated with me, as it should with all FM players as the great underdogs who were achieving way above their supposed status and resources. They were on their way to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana against Medellin. To quote a BBC News report, "Founded in 1973, the team has been playing in Brazil's Serie A since only 2014 but is currently ninth ahead of much more famous and established teams such as Sao Paulo, Fluminense and Cruzeiro. Last week, it became the first Brazilian team in three years to make it to the final of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's second most important club competition, after beating Argentine side San Lorenz".
