Just because you wanna defend With a 4-4-2 you dont necesarily wanna attack With a 4-4-2 aswell. The simplest way to have what you would define as a 433 in attack & 442 in defence would be to set out in a 442 and set the ML & MR to winger attack with one of the STs set with a support duty, something like a DLF. Alternatively the two wide players could be more sitting while having a CMa in one of the two MC roles. The bottom line is players do not ever play two positions IRL, they have areas to work in and instructions to follow but they never ever run between two positions like headless chickens. Thats not to say that FM isn't a little restricted in some areas but in general it works fairly well. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
