The opportunity to attack in a different formation than you defend. Just because you wanna defend With a 4-4-2 you dont necesarily wanna attack With a 4-4-2 aswell. So it Would be Nice to adjust the Way you attack and defend more than you Can already, so you Can tweak your Playing style to make it more dynamic

Already in the game.

The formation you choose is your defensive shape while the attacking shape is created by the roles, duties & instructions you give.

Yeah i know, but you cant play 4-3-3 in attack if your defensive shape is 4-4-2

Shapes are flexible and ever changing depending what is happening on the pitch at the time.

The simplest way to have what you would define as a 433 in attack & 442 in defence would be to set out in a 442 and set the ML & MR to winger attack with one of the STs set with a support duty, something like a DLF.

Alternatively the two wide players could be more sitting while having a CMa in one of the two MC roles.

The bottom line is players do not ever play two positions IRL, they have areas to work in and instructions to follow but they never ever run between two positions like headless chickens.

Thats not to say that FM isn't a little restricted in some areas but in general it works fairly well.
