Slabbekoorn
I like to play with amateur and semi-pro clubs and there's always been one thing that's been bothering me (well actually two with the youth-contract wages that are always fixed but that's not what this is about) and that is that I never can sign a foreign player unless his based nation is in the same nation as my club. They always say: "I won't sign for anything less than a full-time contract". While I get SI's intention and it's for amateur clubs anyways it keeps bothering me since if I play in Holland (local region Zeeland for instance) then I can never sign Belgian players (from local region West-Vlaanderen, Oost-Vlaanderen and Antwerpen for instance) even though Zeeland is right next to these local regions. But I can sign players from Groningen and that is roughly 250km away form Zeeland. So I would like to see some possible transfer activities between neighbouring natons/local regions. Here's some proof of Dutch amateurclubs with quite some foreign players: HSV Hoek (Zeeland) http://www.transfermarkt.com/hsv-hoek/startseite/verein/3943 IJselmeervogels who contracted a player from Iceland http://www.tweenul.nl/nieuws/ijsselmeervogels-legt-ijslander-vast EVV Echt (Limburg, located next to Belgium and Germany) http://www.transfermarkt.com/evv-echt/startseite/verein/8994/saison_id/2016
steff13
agree with this. even in my last save for FC Riga (Latvia, semi-professional club from High League) i couldn't sign any foreigners, when IRL there were some professional foreigners in their squad (Aristide Bance, Igor Lytovka, russian and japanese players, etc.). Willigenburg
I agree! I'm running a save in the Danish second division and although the division is not flooded with foreigners it is clear that the clubs have been able to bring in foreigners in the past.. That is not possible in the current version of FM, because no players would leave their country for an amateur or part time contract.
Guest
At these lower levels the question is whether players are moving for football or their regular full time job & then turning out for a local amatuer/semi-pro side? I do agree that some movement of players at clubs bordering nations that have freedom of movement would be a good idea.
