ProddingAHoneyBadger
Juventus & Torino - Giants of Turin and Italy but there's a new challenger. U.S.D. Vanchiglia 1915 The aim? These are the cities that have won the Italian Serie A, I want to topple Torino and then eventually topple Juventus as the best side in Turin and Italy. But Why? Inspiration from @Duroliponte and @AK22 has led me to want to try and do a similar feat. I've loaded Italy to the Promozione (6th tier) and taken over U.S.D. Vanchiglia 1915 who are located just 9 kilometres away from Juventus' Stadium so one day we will hopefully build a local rivalry. History: (Translated) Spoiler Cavallero , Nicoletto and Forge were three friends with a passion: football. It is from them, in September 1915, he took off the first amateur football club from Turin: the USD Vanchiglia. The first location was in via Rosazza, in the housing of the Forge, where stagecoaches used to rest, in the uniform grenade reflected the footballing faith of the founders. The playing field was in Via Benevento, near the silk factory Liprandi, one of many with its smokestacks helped to give the name to the district: "Borgh dël Fumu". During World War II, the sports facilities were destroyed by bombing and the "Vanchiglia" nothing was left. In 1945, after the Liberation, a group of partners, so will and few resources, began construction of the camp Lungo Dora Colletta. The willing "boys" captains Michael Montera, armed with wheelbarrows, picks and shovels, dumped tons of earth and rubble, completing the goal they had set: to give a new playing field to the glorious Vanchiglia Company. But the story of Vanchiglia can not be separated from its presidents. Cavallero and Luzzati, who were the first, to Gaspare Tallia president par excellence, who held the reins of the company from 1959 until June 13, 1982, the date his tragic death in a car accident. The Vanchiglia it puts them among the best amateur clubs getting in 1994 - after the star of Bronze (1970) and Silver (1980) Sporting Merit - the Sports Merit Recognition for eighty years of activity. Currently the President of the USD Vanchiglia is Eduardo De Gregorio . Professionalism and operational efficiency are the main features of the new corporate leadership, which has become, over the years one of the most skilled football landmarks of Turin metropolitan area. flagship of Vanchiglia is the football school letterhead to Gaspare Tallia. Every Saturday, in via Ragazzoni 2 (inside the Parco della Colletta), instructors available and prepared, waiting for children to introduce them to the game of football, but especially in order to contribute to their human formation. You can not count all the boys went from Vanchiglia ninety-four years in football. Many have stopped, many have continued playing in dozens of prestigious amateur clubs, some have made a career coming to Serie A. Let us recall a few: Buscaglia (Turin), Carlo Parola (unforgotten centromediano of the National and Juventus), Claudio Onofri (Free turin and Genoa), Paul Sollier (extrovert midfielder Perugia), Michele Padovano (Juventus), Gottardo (Bari), Crow (Torino, Atalanta, Napoli), Paul Sarno (goalkeeper of Turin, Ternana, Lazio, Udinese), Simone Loria (Roma), Andrea Gasbarroni (Genoa), Luca Moreo (Viterbo). This is the Vanchiglia, a prolific and celebrated nursery, where kids learn first of all to be sure and strong in character and to love a sport: football. You may not know what the future of so many young athletes, but those of Vanchiglia we can say, with some pride, that will always be some players ... ProddingAHoneyBadger
Tactics: I'm no tactical genius, not one bit but I want to try and bring back Catenaccio if I can, I've made up a quick formation and I'll use pre-season to test it but here it is in it's most infantile stage. My thoughts are that the Wingbacks will go on the offense whilst I'm left with the defensive 4 diamond of the Libero, 2 BPD's and the Anchor Man. I have no idea how this will work out but hopefully well, any thoughts will be amazing. One thing I'm thinking of changing though is the tempo, if we're going to be countering then it would probably be best is we were playing at a higher tempo. SirManager
I'd probably play on normal tempo to see how it plays out. Is your WB on attack or support? Also the best of luck to you mate. I look forward to seeing the progress.

ManUtd1
Followed! Anyone who wants to take down Juventus is good in my books...

I'll give that a try, pre-season is over now and the results were as to be expected really with 4 wins and 2 defeats we scored 7 and conceded 5 which also isn't too shabby and both of our WB's are on attack. 16 hours ago, BluesGuy said: This is a really good idea, I'll for sure be following! SirManager
How'd you concede? Maybe you can adapt to that if it was common.

I changed tactics and we've been conceding a lot less, I have to say but I'm surprised we're doing as well as we are at the half-way point. An update will be up shortly showing the new formation as well as a few stat screenshots.
ProddingAHoneyBadger
Mid-Season 2016/17 So, we've reached the half-way point and what can I take from this so far? Well, I may have been a bit counter-productive as I've used an instant result skin so I haven't actually seen any matches live but I've looked at some of the highlights afterwards and one of the odd things is that even when we've played on the counter and more recently defensive away from home we have a good show of the ball, take these 3 games for example: When we're at home we play control but I'm very happy that we're stopping teams from having possession at their own stadiums (especially in the last game where we spent 25 minutes with 10 men!) League Statistics: As you can see, we have the highest possession which is only going to go up now that we've changed formations, 4 out of 5 passes makes its way to another one of our players and we're quite some ways out in front of the other teams in terms of passes completed. Goals For/Against Stats: It appears that the opposition are powerless to our through balls (baring in mind this is the first time I'm properly looking at this then maybe there's some instructions I can add/change to encourage more through balls and less crosses to capitalise on this.) Goals Scored/ Conceded Information: Assists Information: Formation as of last game: So, I think we've done well so far! Roll on the 2nd half of the season!
