An important point

Recommended Posts

In the  above thread started by MichealZorc, i was just about to post this reply when i saw the thread had been locked:

"Aye, it's a pity i have not been able to play fm17 as well. Seeing a world class side being played around like schoolboys on the pitch is annoying in itself, but the main issue i have is people trying to argue & insisting that this normal. The mods have implied in the past that SI read these threads to gain perspective on their next release, so encouraging them to continue such comical errors as these in future versions is only going to pull money out of their pockets (as I certainly won't be buying a future release with such errors), all the while depriving users from what would have been an enjoyable game had the feedback been acknowledged and gone through. In short, blindly defending a game instead of pushing for progress hurts both the customer and the company in the long run. i do expect this thread to soon be locked though, as unfortunately it seems some of the mods are loathe to accept criticism of the franchise. This shouldn't be the case

On the bright side, I would recommend fm15 as I've gone back to playing it again and i must say it's the best engine SI have released thus far."

I think that due to the amount of people saying the winger's defensive positioning is correct in fm17, it needs to be re-emphasized that it really isn't. Like stated above, SI do read these threads and implying to them that no change is needed for fm18 would be detrimental. The mods can lock this thread if they like, it's main purpose is to reassert that despite insistence from some members on here, the ME does need to be adjusted for fm18 to fix winger defensive positioning.

Edit: Also to those who think the winger problem makes the game unplayable, I would recommend fm15 as it seems a really nice engine, although unfortunately it doesn't have some of the nice features fm17 does.

Just a quick point but one that's worth mentioning, SI do not just listen to those who agree with them or believe that an area of the game is fine when others have a differing opinion so there no need to have any concerns that constructive positive feedback outweighs constructive negative feedback.

So basically because there are lots of people that disagree with you, you feel the need to shout the loudest? I don't think the positioning of wingers and full backs is particularly accurate, however it's not as bad as you're making out. I'm currently enjoying most success out wide and my full back/winger are working as a team to stop the opposition's threat down the wings.

Also funny how you mention you have a 'world class side' - perhaps the word 'complacency' could be used? Don't expect to manage a top side and automatically win everything, what would be the point in that?

Perhaps you don't understand the issue: the problem isn't down the wings, it's defending through the centre with 2 CM's and constantly wide players. Overloads, which are a big deal in football, happen constantly with such formations. It's not really a complacency issue, as i see my team trying to close down but when there are 2-3 unmarked central players, it's always going to be easy to retain possession regardless of your caliber of team.

I suggest you rather read what's been posted in the thread in GD and the tactics forum, because it is clear that you didn't.

You're twisting what's been said completely and gone as far as making things up. READ the response by SI in the bugs forum. I even re-posted it here in GD.

The other two threads are closed and this one was definitely not needed.
