His goals return rate in the SPL has been exceptionally poor, and you can argue a whole lot of reasons for that but even though he scored last week for instance and it was a decent strike, he simply didn't do enough to suggest he is a quality striker. Good strikers do miss chances, hell McCoist missed millions, but then good strikers also slot them away and the misses tend to become insignificant. Cousin reminds me a bit like Negri, with the obvious exception that Negri actually did know how to put the ball in the back of the net. He might prove me wrong. Seriously can't see it. Peacemaker7
At least over the last few games he has appeared to add the end product to his dribbling Burke definately has the talent, he always has had. What he lacked before was not just the end product but possibly the attitude. I think he thought he just had to go onto the park and his talent would see him through but even good players have to work hard at it. If anyone can the best from someone it's Walter Smith so fingers crossed that Burke can start becoming the player he was touted to be from the youth ranks all those what seems like hundreds of years ago now. TM
quite surprised that we didn't score more than 2 there, young Dundee Utd keeper in class form and some missed chances including a penalty from Boyd still a comfortable win puts back where we belong and hopefully a chance to open up daylight against St Mirren on Tuesday night
McD
2 going on 5. Showing good form and some consistency now. Solid at the back and creating plenty going forward, and with players bursting to get in that first XI. Top of the league with the chance of extending that on Tuesday.... promising times! Guest sav112
Team: McGregor, Hutton, Cuellar, Weir, Whittaker, Burke, Ferguson, Hemdani, Thomson, Naismith, Cousin. I actually really like the balance of that team, the only weakness is Cousins in my view I know Boyd does not have what some consider the full game but still I’d rather see him on than Cousins. If Whittaker slots well into left back we’ve won a watch…… also good to see Burke back on some good form long my he improve.
TM
in the last 3-4 games, Cousin's game has really improved I feel dunno if it's cause the transfer window is open, but his finish in the Hibs game last week was brilliant and his general work has been impressive with reference to linking up with Naismith/Burke Not sure if Boyd would have made too many friends with what happened with the pen today, Nacho won it and I guess Boyd must have decided he was taking it and then missed it not exactly a problem at 2-0, but if the score was 0-0 he'd have been in trouble for that one

Frankie
Ah a great performance today culminating with a return to the top of the league.... Like Hibs and Aberdeen before them, we really played Utd off the park today and should have won by 7 or 8 goals instead of the paltry 2. However, we can be happy with the result and our form as the games get tougher and the pressure rises into the business end of the season. Whole team played well and with our long-time injured players also on their way back and the chance to add a couple of first choice players to the side, the future is certainly bright. Add in a touch of stadium regeneration and board-room changes and the wine tastes sweet this evening. Ignore the ignoramuses fellow bears and let's enjoy the Rangers returning. Gary Toner
FOLLOWING media enquiries today, the club would like to inform its fans that it is currently assessing a number of proposals for the development and regeneration around Ibrox. At present we are analysing three strategies which would enhance the development of the existing outline planning proposals for the Hinshelwood area to the south of the stadium. One of the strategies includes the total rebuilding of Ibrox Stadium while retaining the brick facade, the tradition and the integrity of the Bill Struth Main Stand. The Club stresses that at this time it is assessing these proposals and no decisions will be reached imminently. Further details will be announced at the appropriate time. Yes, we applied to have the regional supercasino to be built on the current site of the Albion car park. We weren't successful then but the chairman did say the club would explore other ways of regeneration for the landbank. I wouldn't read too much into this release at this stage. How many times do you see players in other positions filling in at fullback, you see plenty of midfielders and CB covering that position then compare that with the amount of times it happens the other way round cant you see the point in making? GingerFurball
Yes, but when your starting right back is Pascal Chimbonda, then signing a good right back suddenly becomes a huge priority. Incidentally, Celtic's first signing of the month was a full back. Are you honestly telling me that Strachan would have been better off saving the £2m and playing Paul Hartley or Gary Caldwell there? tony_cfc
im not talking from spurs point of view, im talking from rangers. does having a good right back really help in the spl or would you rather have that money spent on a few players round the team thats my main point? ok but how long has it taken for him to do so overall, he bought players in the summer in different positions even though a FB should have been our priority. i dont think he would even have signed him if we never had the injury problems with wilson and doumbe, i think thats forced him tbh

tony_cfc
if you replace him with whittaker then a few new players in other positions then i think you would potentially be better, thats a reason i want him to stay. i also want him to stay becuase i think the presence of him makes OF games and the title race more intense, i think some of that gets lost with players who never had much interest in the OF before they signed. i've got a feeling rangers fans might lose a bit of that now lennons left

Vidmar14
I honestly don't understand some peoples problem with Cousin, okay he's not as hard working as Novo but as he is our only striker that actually has a first touch and can hold up a ball i'll forgive him for that. We have played some of our best football this season past two games with Cousin as lone frontman due to his ability, something you will never get with boyd. What you get with Boyd is a fat lazy guy with no ability, he scored goals for us the past 2 seasons some of you will reply, but my argument is, where did the team as a whole end up? Cousin might have 5-6 league goals but look at how the team is performing, and for me it is all about the team. I'd have boyd shipped off ASAP, his attitude during the le guen era spoke volumes and now it has come back to bite him on the bum, the boy is more interested in bevying that trying to improve as a footballer. Get him out the door. And that imposter JCD can follow him, guy has played about 3 games for us, he looked good yeah but its all good having a good player but if your paying him big bucks and he isn't on the park, then, why bother? GTF JCD.
