strong centrehalf
Basically I think that the DOF if applicable at your club shouldn't be able to be fired by yourself atleast up until you have built up a good reputation and had success with the club, you should be able to ask the board to reconsider having a DOF above you over seeing things or ask to bring your own man into the job, I also think that the DOF should be maybe less inclined to do exactly as you wish but maybe be more inclined to keep you following the club/chairmans vision ie: if at a low budget club you as manager may have the idea of getting a load of older players in for a short term approach to success whereas the clubs model could be to develop the youth to reach success, so in theory the DOF could interfere with some of the transfers if you were to stray to far from the clubs vision, obviously the higher interference rating of DOF/chairman the more strict the DOF would be. Basically the DOF should be someone you actually have to work with/alongside to achieve than merely him being basically a scout who can do the contracts for you.
