The game can restrict their attributes or allow some flexibility but most management teams these days work with three key personnel who move together. For instance Klopp and Buvac at Liverpool all the way through to Koeman brothers at Everton down to the Cowley Brothers at Lincoln. I have found that I can keep most of my team together for most of my career but occasionally lose one due to here and there to big clubs on a journeyman save.
