octopusthu
I don't know about Diego, but this is what I am facing with right now...... The giant players PSG, Man City and Man Utd came directly for the release clauses of Saul, Koke and Griezmann, respectively. With the club in a financial deficit (I did not buy any players or make any other big spendings during the season), there is no way these players would agree to the contract renewals I can provide. It looks like the only option left is to make a rebuild of the first team and rely on the return-from-loan players such as Oliver, Kranevitter, and Theo, as well as the remaining first-team players such as Gimenez, Lucas, and Carrasco, as long as they can resist to further incoming lures from the giant clubs. A friendly piece of advice to Mr. Simeone: Open contract talks with your key players as soon as possible and increase the damn release clause to as high as possible!!! Bigpapa42
I imagine that Simeone would feel rather like Tuchel felt last summer when Dortmund lost three of their best players, talents which could not be individually replaced.
WarroOxford
He'll probably be fine considering he's been linked to the Inter job for ages and now Pioli has been sacked.
