reerdo
Well where to begin, I have always wanted to try a Journeyman save but have neither the skill (I am just not very good at this game) or the patience. So after being inspired by @Makoto Nakamurajourney from Estonia to Luxemburg and onto Portugal and France I am here hoping that writing about my journey will force me to overcome my lack of patience and see this through while also making light of my lack of ability, and hey I may even learn a thing or two along the way. I don't really know why but I have also decided that throughout this journey I am going to stick to 4-4-2 'shape'. So without further ado lets make a start . . . I am sticking to Europe and setting the big four leagues to only the top 2 tiers in each to save them for when (if) I get my rep up I have gone large on the database which should be fine looking at the feedback After applying for and getting interviews for a couple of jobs with no success it was third time lucky (or maybe unlucky) and I was offered the job as manager of . . . Hamarkameratene (literally the Hamar Comrades), often abbreviated to HamKam or Ham-Kam, is a Norwegian football club based in the town of Hamar. The club was founded in 1918, originally under the name Freidig. HamKam were most recently promoted to the Norwegian Premier League in 2007. A third-place finish in 1970 is the highest position that the team has held in the Premier League; the club has never progressed beyond the semifinals of the Norwegian Cup, last reaching the semifinals in 1989. Briskeby gressbane has been the home ground of Hamarkameratene since 1936. The construction of a completely modernized stadium began in 2007. Upon completion, expected in 2009, Briskeby will have a capacity of 10.200 spectators, whereas the capacity prior to the modernization was approximately 8000. (The above is from Wiki) Well it is certainly going to be a baptism of fire looking at the table and their results so far this season (and yes that is the bottom 7 places being the relegation zone!) Well that's all for now, time to study the squad and figure out what I have let myself in for

reerdo
I finally get a scout signed and into the club with 9 days left of the transfer window . . . this could be interesting. reerdo
Well that went alot better than expected. That is August done and dusted with games against 5th, 1st, 6th and 8th resulting in 3 draws and 1 win. The draw against first place Elverum was particularly pleasing after being 2-0 down at half time to fight back to 2-2, though they nearly snatched it with a penalty on 88 that they thankfully crashed against the bar. The game against Rosenborg 2 shall never be mentioned again as it was the most boring game I have ever sat through. Then to round out the month a good win against Honefoss dragged them back into the relegation fight. With a 30 yarder from Okland to start the scoring (though what the keeper was doing is anyones guess) I suppose out of all this the main point to take is we have halved the gap to safety from 10 points to 5 so we are still in there fighting. And now some signings I picked up before deadline day to bolster the squad and improve some positions (I really am finding it hard to judge what is and what is not good at this level and relying on my scouts alot)
Makoto Nakamura
Best of luck with this reerdo! Hopefully you can keep HamKam up.
reerdo
September 2016 So another month done and we stay undefeated since I took over, though we came close to losing that record in the final game of the month against Gjovik-Lyn needing an 88th minute equaliser to save our bacon. Now moving into October we have 4 games left to save ourselves against 7th, 10th 14th and 5th. To be honest no matter what happens from here I am happy how we have turned the corner when I took over from the dire straits we were in before. reerdo
I wasn't going to do an update until the season was over . . . . . . BUT . . . . . . as we go into the last game of the season this is how things stand . . . The fixtures to come are we are away to 5th place Brattvag, Honefoss are away to 9th place Stordais-Blink and Byasen are at home against 2nd place Strindheim. reerdo
Not exactly the start we wanted And at half time we are standing on the precipice And it looks like all our hard work will be for nothing
reerdo
October 2016 - End of Season Well it wasn't to be In truth we were poor, really poor. The final month of the season started with such promise with a victory against relegation rivals Nardo but after that our form fell apart. The draw against Stjordals was bad enough but to then not even be able to beat already relegated Molde 2 pretty much put the writing on the wall going into the final game, finishing up with the kicking us while we are down losing our unbeaten record chasing the win with 10 men. The worst part is if we had of won results elsewhere meant we would have stayed up. So with HamKam's relegation to a non-playable league I am back on the job hunt . . . reerdo
So after 2 months in the unemployment wilderness my next victim, sorry I mean team is named . . . K.S.V. Oudenaarde Koninklijke Sport Vereniging Oudenaarde is a Belgian association football club based in Oudenaarde, East Flanders. It is currently playing in the Belgian Third Division. The club plays at Burgemeester Thienpontstadion in Oudenaarde. The club's colours are black and yellow. Founded in 1911 as S.K. Aldenardia, the club merged with F.C. Audenarais in 1919 to become S.V. Audenaerde. The name was later changed to S.V. Oudenaarde, with the city name spelled in Dutch instead of the French name Audenaerde. In 1951, the club received the right to use the royal prefix Koninklijke. Member of the Belgian Football Association since 1912, the club first reached the second division in 1924, for just one year as they finished last of their series. The come back to this level of the competition was not operated before season 1980–81. This time they managed to end in the seventh position, their best position ever in the club's history. The same position was achieved the next year, but in 1983, they could not avoid relegation. In 1988 they finished last of the third division A, and were subsequently relegated to the fourth level of Belgian football, promotion, not to come back again before the new century. In 2006 Oudenaarde was crowned champion of the promotion A. And our proud home Burgemeester Theinpontstadion I again join a club languishing in the relegation zone but with a game in hand meaning I have a total of 42 points to play for anything could happen A little look at the 3 best players at the club and I think we have a chance if we can start strong like we did at HamKam
reerdo
January 2017 So what did I learn this month . . . erm I learnt that one minute we will knock the ball round and score as if we are Barcelona and then we will defend worse than my old Sunday team used to on a bad day. To say we are inconsistent within the 90mins of a game is an understatement. Overall results wise I am please with the month. The 2-1 loss to Seraing Utd was worse than the scoreline looks, we were poor, they had so much time and space it was scary leading to a few tactical tweaks which I feel just about stay true to my 4-4-2 goal. The VW Hamme game hurt. 3 nill down on 39th minute. Get it back to 3-2 by halftime. Equalise on the 67th minute and then we were the only team looking likely to score before my strikers passes it straight to one of their players on the edge on their 18 yard box, he knocks it wide, the winger floats a long ball over the top, and we are 4-3 down. reerdo
February 2017 Well the wheels have certainly come of the wagon. I don't know what to say about this month. Dire doesn't do it justice. To start with a 1-0 loss to bottom place Coxyde set the scene really and we just got worse as the month went on. Although we aren't listed on the table as relegated I can't catch 13th as there are only 4 games left so unless I am missing something it looks like I will be on the manager scrap heap again soon. reerdo
March 2017 I'm back . . . though this could be quick . . . Aliança Futebol Clube de Gandra is a Portuguese club located in the parish of Gandra , municipality of Paredes , district of Porto . O clube foi fundado em 16 de Agosto de 1936 e o seu actual presidente é Eduardo Carvalho. The club was founded on August 16, 1936 and its current president is Eduardo Carvalho. I have been given a 3 month contact to 'Fight Bravely Against Relegation'. The table looks promising for that . . . But I need to figure out what this mean's in the rules to see if I have to worry . . . From my last to jobs I have decided I need to take on the adage of KISS so I will be sticking to 4-4-2 but really trying to keep it all as basic and 'default' as possible as a base and work from there using highlights and stats. Fingers crossed it is third time lucky. Edit: Just figured it out, I am already in a relegation group (?) so I am coming in post that above rule having happened (?) reerdo
April 2017 Well Played 5 Won 1 Lost 1 Drawn 3 doesn't sound like anything to write home about but I am pleased with it. Going back to a more simple base 4-4-2 has help the tem look visibly more 'comfortable' and watching the matches in more detail has let me make a few tweaks that 'I think' have helped us. Our big issue is scoring goals and that is the next par I need to work on without losing to much of the simple structure we have now. Wit 2 games left I am 'safe' from the drop of this relegation group. Now just to see if I can get an extended contract and where we go from here as I learn how this league works. reerdo
May 2017 and Post Season Thoughts I am actually pleased with how things have gone to be honest. Although we haven't exactly set the world alight we look fairly solid and look like we know what we are doing. I am going to spend some time over the close season looking into the best set piece routines both offensive and defensive as with how tight some of the games have been I think they could be the decide factor a lot. I do also need to take a look again at the squad depth and do some scouting as well as shifting some deadwood out the door. Also before I forget I have been given a new 12 month contract which is a first in this save Lets hope that I can make the most of the faith shown in me

reerdo
I am about to break one of my mini rules and move away from 443. reerdo
Pre-season 2017 Pre-season has been quite good, as stated about I am moving away from 442 for now while I try and build up some reputation and move my career along. We have also made some signings that have helped the quality of the side but I am still learning what is good at this level. From all the incomings the star is Luciano Herrera Who pairs up well with Fabio Rodrigo who is a good young striker we have at the club.
