DraKmaH
Instead of developing a different FM a year, why doesn't SI creates the "perfect" game? Major improvements and stuff put in the game all in once! To compensate the money loss the game could be sold at a slightly higher price, with a database update for a new season and a one-year online pass that can be purchased in the store. Everyone's happy. No money loss for SI and a perfect game for managers, until in 4-5 years "Football Manager 2" comes out with other vital improvements. CFuller
Talk about high expectations. Football Manager will never be 'perfect'; SI just keep edging a little closer to that year-on-year. SI will surely have multiple years' worth of improvements on their to-do lists for further FMs. They would probably put most of them into FM18 or FM19 if they could, but realistically, they don't have the resources to do so. It's not as if their studio is as big as the likes of BioWare or Paradox. SI's current game development cycle works just fine; they improve the game enough and add enough new features every year for it to be considered more than just a 'season update'. Also, abandoning their 'one game per season' strategy would be business suicide for SI, considering FM is their only real money-spinner (EHM is even more of a niche game than FM).
