Pretended Posted August 15, 2017 Share Posted August 15, 2017 We got the tools and in-game filtering for that matter, it's obvious how to filter out players with Free Kick Taking ability and, say, Long Shots >15 and see who is OK to do it. I got lots of players somewhat at that degree with PPM's supporting it but do not really see them freekicks flying in. While it won't turn an average taker into the next Juninho, to me it's way more valuable for a free-kick taker than an extra point in Free Kicks or Long Shots. That's how in FM, Dimitri Payet is better at scoring directly than Miralem Pjanić. That said, even Juninho wasn't scoring more than 5 attempts per season on average when he was playing for Lyon : the actual advantage comes to set-pieces overall as you may benefit a lot more from good takers if you have players inside the box who have good Heading, Off The Ball movement or/and are opportunistic enough to feed on any loose ball.
