JordanMilly Posted September 7, 2017 Share Posted September 7, 2017 The Premier League clubs have now voted, from 2018 onwards, to close the transfer window at 17.00 BST the Thursday before the start of the season (so 5pm UK time on 9th August 2018), rather than the 31st of August. On the surface its easy to change a date but you also have to consider the knockon effects of how that affects the decisions clubs make with transfers, when & how much they offer and whether to accept an offer from say a foreign club after the buying window has closed.
