Unofficial National Teams

Have there ever been any thoughts about implementing unofficial national teams to the game?

The best known might be Catalonia or the Basque Country but there are also teams for Corsica, Galicia and other departments.

And writing that, one should not forget those teams:

I would enjoy it. At least I'd quite like the UN members that don't have FIFA membership (Micronesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands*, Monaco, Nauru, Palau, Tuvalu, and Vatican City) plus a few others that might have a reasonable claim of being future FIFA members such as Guernsey, Isle of Man, Greenland and Jersey. Maybe Alderney.

Even if they exist just for second nationality purposes for the occasional Le Saux that might crop up would be a nice touch.

*Maybe not these guys, they don't seem to have ever played a game.

And you are going to play only unofficial friendly games??

Actually, there's no need to really being able to manage those teams but your players could be called up for them. I quite like the idea with the second nationalities that leuano has brought up.

As for the Spanish regions, the teams include some prominent Players whereas the CONIFA teams are filled with lower league Players only, I guess. Sure, all the matches including one of these teams are unofficial but that doesn't really matter in the FM, does it? It's about realism and Catalunya and Euskadi for example play quite regularly.

Actually, it would be quite cool to be asked to become National Coach of one of the Spanish regions for their annual friendly match.
Of course, that should only be possible if there's a comprehensible reason for that, e.g. you're Basque or Catalunyan yourself in the game or at least manage Barcelona, Espanyol, Athletic, San Sebastian etc.
