Squad unhappy because another player wants 1st team football ?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this question has been asked yet but a common Squad harmony feature recently is that the squad is unhappy because another player wants 1st team football,

I am struggling to think of a real life situation where this occurs.

If Jose didn't play someone and they became unhappy as a result I cant see the other squad players knocking on his door asking why. You could even go a step further and say that they are happy that a fellow player who is competing for a place in the team is not getting picked.

What's the thinking behind this SI ? Can you provide a real life example as I'm struggling.

Players in teams have friends.. Of course if they become close friends with a player then they too may become unhappy should that person not be getting any first team action. For instance Alberto Moreno is very good friends with Phil Coutinho. Is the reason Coutinho is a bit happier because his mate is playing? He did after all want a move. We cant say for sure this is true but I am sure there would be instances in real world where you might be unhappy due to a mate not getting his dues.

Because either the person you're not playing is popular amongst the team, or one of the few people initially unhappy with your decision is influential themselves.

Players having opinions about how other players are treated I can understand.  What is well overplayed in the game IMO is that other players will overreact and make this an issue with the manager when it is really not their concern.  I wonder how many employees in a work environment would go to their line manager and complain that their mate wasn't getting enough overtime or had his holiday request turned down?  This module in the game needs some serious work

As a manager, you'd be surprised how many times that actually happens, some folks just love sticking their nose where it don't belong

This happens, but not in the way it is implemented in FM.

About 2 wks ago, a first team defender of the club I am doing some work for, asked me to relay a message to the manager that he wanted to play with defender X, who was a reserve. That he understood him better and, when you check the numbers, they worked better as a pair.

It does happen, and it happens often, but not as a demand. Just some conversations here and there, you know? :)
