qwertygod
Intro Medium Database with England and Scotland loaded down to VNN/VNS and LL2 each. Sunday League experience and National C Licence. This will be tough. I feel the hardest part will be managing the new dynamics part of the game. It will be imperative to get off to a fast start. Finances are okay although i will be aiming to trim the wage bill. York City Squad Goalkeepers Defence Midfield Attackers Tactics I will be trying to play some counter attacking football , not route one per-se but certainly direct when appropiate. Hopefully i can get in some players on loan to boost squad depth. I will be looking to offload the wingers on the team to reduce wagebill , the style i play means these guys are surplus to requirements.
qwertygod
Preseason Not a great start , admittedly some tough games there. Bury game was unlucky as we were not outplayed. I have moved away from counter attacking style to a more controlled approach as results were poor in game. Managed to bring in some good loan signings to add depth to the squad. These 2 lads in particular should be very good for us in the middle of the park. August Good start to the season. Winning lots of close games and keeping things tight at the back. Away to Bradford was won with a 30 yard last minute strike. September Keeping the run going , still undefeated in competitive fixtures. Harrogate have been a thorn in our side , we threw away 2 goal leads in both games but made good in the cup fixture.
qwertygod
October An unspectacular October. The loss to Leyton Orient was a soul destroying moment. Tamworth were lucky to escape with the win and same old story against Curzon Ashton. We need to start scoring more. November/December We are really struggling right now. Cannot buy a win in the league. Luckily no one has pulled away and we hold a slender 3 point lead.
Hootieleece
Good Start with York City. I am trying with FC United. How is it that you are defending well? I have had a lot of soul crushing losses and injuries and everyone on team doesn't want to listen. (only 1 win in about a month) I am giving up lots goals on Set pieces. None of my players can defend even though I practice before every match.

I was getting lucky to be fair however for last mins of game i was changing wingback roles to defence and playing more possesion football with a lower tempo. I was seeing alot of those 1-0 out that way. As for set pieces , i train it maybe once a month or every other month. Its not something i focus on. I do concede quite a few from set pieces. qwertygod
January Tough gig here. Darlington and Tamworth were 2 hard away games where we got outplayed. After the tamworth game i altered the formation to try and break out of this incosistent run. February Very frustrating month. Played well in alot of the games though and maidenhead away was a glorious comeback with 2 late goals in the last 10 minutes to steal glory. March Really starting to pick up steam now. The league saw many chops and changes at the top but we have cemented a solid gap at the top. This is the remainder of the season. Some tough games in there. Torquay are in 5th place in the Vanarama National and that will be a tough game to retain the FA Trophy title with York being the existing holders. qwertygod
August/September 2018 Great start to the season. Delighted with Khius 'Rocket Boots' Metz , 5 goals in 5 games. Sadly he missed other games due to injury but is now training again and will feature. Its amazing what a player with nothing but killer pace can do at this level with the right tactics. qwertygod
Oct - Dec 2018 We are just playing some incredible stuff right now. What a time to be alive! Heres a look at the league table. We are riding a 7 game winning streak in the league going Scoring 24 goals in those games. Heres a look at the squad stats. I have managed to keep the squad happy with rotating a fair amount. Incredibly frustrating to get knocked out the FA cup early again but our finances are back in order so all is good! Its still early days for fm2018 but it seems like this screen is the most important this year. All this free flowing football only started working when all this was clicking. Last year during the early struggles it was all red.

qwertygod
January We continue the momentum in the league. Maistone at home was truly a moment which will be long remember by the York faithful. You just can't keep the great men down. Remember the time Shola Ayoola showed up at half time and York won the game do ya? February This team is just unbelievable. The FA trophy game vs Methyr Town was one the greatest moments in FM ever for me and i have been playing this game since the days of champ manager. Cue the celine dion titanic music with that ending. This is why we play football manager. March Again so clutch , this team always wins the big games. We are just blowing teams off the park with the goal scoring potential in this team. April/May Rough end to the season , Sutton just blew us away but darlington and gateshead were sickening results with late goals against us. It ultimately led to us coming up short in the quest for 100 points. Things are going great on all fronts. No great youth prospects to talk about as of yet. Hootieleece
Great Start at York! looks like you mastered the Group Dynamics thing relatively easily. In my current save as Wrexham I started out with the same badge and experience, but the players don't want to listen to me and the Dynamics screen says my reputation is to low vs. players. Maybe because their in the Vanarama League and Professional Team.

Gonna be tough this year without him.
qwertygod
October Update Decent start to the season. Looking good for a playoff spot at this rate... Jan 2020 Update Absolutely brutal run of form. The amount of late goals we conceded was insufferable. Realistically the playoffs are out of reach now. Hopeful to finish around 16th or so would be a relatively successful season however avoiding relegation is the main priority.
Hootieleece
I always aim to average a point a game when trying to survive a relegation battle if you can do that you should be fine. qwertygod
Jan/Feb 2020 Time for the new year and with it , out with the old and in with the new in terms of tactics. Going for 41212 Narrow , no great wingers in this team so going to utilise the depth in midfield. Late goals again just killing us. Delighted with the early results though. March - May 2020 That 6-4 game was certainly great for the neutrals. Late goals again killing us in most of these draws. Carlisle game just about sums the whole season up. Youth Prospects Couple of real gems this year. Here's a look at the top potential youngsters in my u18 squad And these guys were brought up to the big leagues immediately and made their presence known in the first team to close out the season. No idea why they have done this.

qwertygod
Midseason Update Skybeat League 2 Cups As you see things are going well , still alot of problems with conceding late and now early goals as well. Our defence is poor and losing Yeboah Amankwah has really hurt us last year. If we remain healthy i fancy us to get an automatic promotion place. qwertygod
A fantastic season allround and the players really deserve plaudits for the performances. Lets see how we get on in league 1. qwertygod
2021 Preseason Update Great preseason leaves me feeling really confident of a solid top half finish in league 1 this year. Managed to get these 6 guys who were on loan last year , signed up to permanent contracts. Also managed to get 3 solid loan signings Tactics Will probably be running something like this above as primary setup perhaps reverting to a diamond formation below depending on the opposition

qwertygod
2021-2022 Midseason Update Skybet League 1 Very impressive run of form from mid October onwards. November was unbeaten. Delighted. Dare we dream of an automatic promotion place let alone playoffs? Unlucky in the cups. Lincoln are a quality team and they thumped us in the league cup. Another dissapointing exit from the FA cup. Perhaps the checkatrade Trophy will be our saving grace this year?

qwertygod
Enf of season update Our late charge ran out of gas , taking 1 point out of 12 in our last 4 away games was key. We finished 3rd and face the lottery of the playoffs Playoff Semi Final Such a crucial goal in Leg 1 , we were 2-0 down and swindon missed a bunch of clear cut goalscoring opportunities. We managed a goal against the run of play and kicked on to win 5-2 on aggregate. The everpresent Metz scoring in each game. We are almost there. Promotion Playoff Final What a game this team is just never gives up. Words cannot describe , 3 of the best goals ive seen all season for us and the winner was a brilliant team goal. The equaliser in extra time was a technically world class volley from a cross . When penalties looked to be upon us Mets took a deep pass on thew flank , outran the fullback and fired an inch perfect cross to George White who tapped home from close range https://gyazo.com/f25f55d503c139b3ebc166415b52d358.png https://gyazo.com/388d31b4df2ddc526721634b8ec83be2.png Youth intakes Only signed a couple of players this year Couple of interesting prospects , Buxton seems like the pick of the bunch as well and he contributed right awayas Duxbury with those mentals. Lets see how they develop. The youth team this year was flying high winning the league at a canter. We are selling out the new stadium on a regular basis as well so things are certainly looking rosy indeed!

qwertygod
Midseason Update Great opening day victory over likely relegation rivals Lincoln. Took us a while to get going after that though, Think we need to pick up the pace a bit or we will go down. Jesus wept , how bad are sunderland. Its like Derby county 07-08 on steroids. Their only point so far was a glorious 0-0 result against the once proud Blackburn Rovers. Business as usual in the Carabao cup , Hopefully the FA cup gives us a good run this year! In other news Metz has decided he is Irish again. And young prospect Buxton is certainly progressing nicely. qwertygod
End of season update The squad was down to the barebones this year and luckily we were not hit too hard with injuries. The second half of the season was wonderful. We didnt really pull away from the fodder at the bottom until 6-7 games left. Lincoln are the only team to suffer defeat at the hands of sunderland , shamed in front of their own fans , may the lord have mercy on their souls. FA Cup Out after 1 game again amidst some shocking scenes. We truly are cursed. Metz clinical as always , surprised none of the bottom table PL teams have came in for him. Under 18s Heres the best prospects at the club. Not great in terms of personalities though. And they retain their title , thats 4 years in a row now! qwertygod
End of season Update Results League Table What a brutal year , Bolton relegated with 50 points. We had to win vs Preston on last day of season to ensure survival , Preston were chasing the playoffs so it was a tough game. In the end the result did not matter as much but a defeat by 2 goals or more would have dropped us into relegation zone. We did very well to stay up this year given the bad start we had to recover from. In the cup vs Tottenham we got outplayed by a quality side. The board will also be expanding the stadium to hold 10000 as we have consistently filled the current 8000 capacity.
qwertygod
2024 Youth Intake What a brilliant year. This is probably the best regen ive had whilst being at a lower division side.
