Centre backs pi

Hi just wondering what pi people give there centre backs is it either less close down or more close down it's just the guides I have read says to close down less but surely isn't the job of the centre backs is to go and attack the ball

it also depends on the duty of the CB as well

if it’s stopper (and esp in a 3 defender formation) I would choose close down more as it’s the duty of that def to close down and stop the attacker?

if it’s on cover duty I’d choose close down less as it’s that guys duty to cover his man who is closing down on an attacker, leaving him as a spare man behind

Thanks how about in a back 2 with both just being normal centre backs with defend duties

IMO is would say close down less if you more attacking wing backs or fullbacks as you'll need those 2 CD being able to cover

Also don't ignore a player's own attributes.  Aggression for example may encourage a central defender to step up out of line more often.
