advice for Plymouth Argyle

Hi all im a huge Argyle fan and having just been sacked by them (a regular occurrence on every fm) is there any advice for tactics and signings, i'm determined to have a long career managing them but it just seems impossible, also advice on how to get the best out of Carey as he just does'nt do anything playing as an inside forward on the right which is supposedly his best position.

Tough gig at Argyle in FM18.  Newly promoted but favourites for relegation, little money to spend and a bit of an iffy squad - although plenty of players who can play in multiple positions, and a couple of decent players in Carey and Threlkeld.

imo you have two options:  1)  Go on the attack, be aggressive, take teams by surprise.  It's a high risk strategy and you may need to rethink after a couple of months but with a bit of luck you might surprise some.  2)  Do the opposite - play it cautious and look to hit teams with counter attacks.  iirc you have some pace down the wings which you may be able to use.  If you do that, have a read of the Art of Counter Attacking thread linked in the guides section of the "Please Read" thread pinned to the top of the forum.

But above all else, be realistic.  Just consolidate your position in League One and avoid the drop.
