Patch 18.3.0 Skinning Information

As always with the release of the new patch various bits of underlying code in the game has changed which may cause issues with some skins if they include the pre-patched versions of these files.

If you have a problem with a certain skin in the lasted patch then the best option is to raise the issue in the thread for that skin (or if it's an off-site skin then raise the issue at the place you downloaded it from) so the skin maker is aware of the problem and can fix it.

If you have a problem with custom skins and the same problem occurs on the default skins then the best place to raise that issue is in the Bugs Forum as that is more than likely an issue with the game rather than the custom skin.

This thread will contain a list of any problems that are affecting skins in general with a short term solution until the skin makers can update their skins.

For skin makers you can alleviate these problems in future by only including files that you have edited for your skin as there is no reason to include files you haven't edited as the game will pick them up from the game files, and if you haven't included them it will pick up the patched files first. (also not including files you haven't edited means there are less files for you to check for changes when a patch has been released).

Problems with Team Talks

The Team Talk page has been reworked in the patch, so if your skin is using the pre-patched file this page may no longer work.

Whilst you wait for the skinner to update their skin you can get around the issue by deleting the 'match team talk panel' xml file found in the panels/match folder for your skin.

Then from the Preferences -> Interface menu turn off the Skin Cache and Reload Your Skin and you should now be able to do your team talks.

Match Player Condition Colours on Light Skins

The patch has added back in the match specific player condition colours so these should now be readable on the tactics screen.

For the most part the game should automatically pick up the new values, however if it doesn't you can manually add the values to the settings file for your skin (especially if you want to change the colours):

<colour name="low condition match" red="247" green="148" blue="148" />
<colour name="mid condition match" red="230" green="219" blue="45" />
<colour name="high condition match" red="255" green="255" blue="255" />

Loss of Content You Had in the Steam Folder

If you placed any files in the steam folder or editing the fmf files included with the game, then more than likely these changes will have been undone by the patch (as you shouldn't really need to touch the content in the steam folder).

To get these changes back you will need to re-apply any changes you made to these files.

Game Not Reading Custom Graphics

Sometimes after patching the game will revert to using the default cached files to solve this problem from the Preferences -> Interface menu make sure the skin cache is turned off and reload your skin and then exit and reload FM and that should refresh your game files.

If that doesn't work then follow the instructions here to manually delete your cache files.

I edited the panel so it shows a separate button to select who you want to talk to and the team talk also works again, attached the edited file I'm using and a screenshot
