Perhaps injuring him or just being able to terminate it? You can withdraw him if he's only being called up for friendly matches. You are obliged to release players for competitive games though. If you managed to get him injured that'd work, but it'd mean exhausting him through a lot of match time, intensive fitness training etc in the weeks building up to the internationals and there are still no guarantees. He'd most likely not get injured at all and just leave you with an exhausted player once the break is over (and possibly get injured then), he might get injured too early and recover just in time for the internationals, he might suffer a double leg break and miss an entire year.
