Syze
THE 1991-92 SEASON: I've decided to use my 1991-92 database to play out a season. I won't be managing anyone, instead I'll be simply observing. I thought it would be interesting to see how things play out, and contrast that to what actually happened. Mostly I'll be focusing on the First Division in England, but I'll also be keeping an eye on the other three English divisions, as well as goings on in Scotland, Italy and Spain. This is on Football Manager 2016 by the way. Here is how the English Football League Division One looks: So let's begin by looking at the clubs involved. First up, the defending English Champions, Arsenal: ARSENAL: They're obviously a very strong outfit. As champions of England they will also be representing their country in the European Cup. This is what I think their best eleven looks like: Next up we'll take a look at Aston Villa. Syze
Onto our second team competing in the First Division for the 1991-92 season: ASTON VILLA: I'd expect Villa to finish in the top third of the league, but I'd be surprised of they challenged for the title. They have a wiley manager in Ron Atkinson, and several very promising youngsters. Plenty to build on. I'd say their best eleven looks like this: Next up we'll take a look at Chelsea. Syze
Let's take a look at Chelsea: CHELSEA: I'd say Chelsea are in a similar situation to Aston Villa, probably upper mid table, but not troubling the title chasers. This is what I think their best eleven looks like: Next up we'll look at Coventry City. Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
Up next, Coventry City: COVENTRY CITY: For Coventry, success is staving off relegation, simple as that. Here is what I think their best eleven looks like: Next up, we'll take a look at Crystal Palace. Syze
Let's take a look at Crystal Palace: CRYSTAL PALACE: I think Palace could be the surprise package this season. Syze
Now let's take a look at Everton: EVERTON: Everton are an outside bet for the title in my opinion. Syze
Onto Leeds United: LEEDS UNITED: After finishing 4th last season, Leeds are definitely among the title favourites this season. They boast last season's Division One top scorer in Lee Chapman, and last season's player of the year in Gordon Strachan. Their strength in depth is proven by the fact that players like Steve Hodge and Rod Wallace arguably don't make their strongest eleven: Leeds will compete in this season's UEFA Cup. Up next - Liverpool. Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. They have amazing strength in depth. I've had to leave out some seriously quality players to come up with this first eleven: Liverpool will also compete in this season's UEFA Cup. Up next - Luton Town. Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
Let's take a look at Luton Town: LUTON TOWN: It's going to a tough ask for Luton to stay in the division this season, in my opinion. The best thing they have going for them is several excellent young prospects. Here's my take on their strongest eleven: Next, we'll take a look at Manchester City. Syze
Onto Manchester United: MANCHESTER UNITED: One of the heavy favourites to claim the title, which they are aiming to do for the first time in 25 years. For Alex Ferguson, it may be a case of now or never. They have great strength in depth, as well as a crop of youth team players with incredible potential. Here is their strongest eleven: Up next - Norwich City. Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
Let's take a look at Norwich City: NORWICH CITY: Norwich have a couple of good young prospects, but I can't see them finishing much higher than mid table this season. Here's their best eleven: Up next - Nottingham Forest. Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
Onto Nottingham Forest: NOTTINGHAM FOREST: Forest have no shortage of quality in their squad, and I would mark them down as an outside bet for the title. And, of course, they are managed by the legendary Brian Clough. Here's their best eleven: Up next, Notts County. Syze
Let's take a look at Notts County: NOTTS COUNTY: Having masterminded back to back promotions, Neil Warnock is going to find it tough to keep his side in the top flight. County will need the likes of Paul Rideout and Tommy Johnson to fire on all cylinders if they're to have any chance. Here's their best eleven: Up next - Oldham Athletic. Syze
Now let's take a look at Oldham Athletic: OLDHAM ATHLETIC: It's all about survival for last season's Division Two champions. It will be tough, but they have some quality players and no lack of firepower. I'm backing them to do it. Here's their best eleven: Next, we'll take a look at Queens Park Rangers. Syze
Rounding out the First Division, we have Wimbledon: WIMBLEDON: For The Crazy Gang, just being in the First Division is punching above their weight. They'll happily settle for survival. Here is what I think their best eleven is: So that rounds out the First Division. Let's take a quick look at how things really went down that season: Up next, we'll take a quick look at Division Two. I won't be going through each team, but I will give a quick overview. Syze
Before we get the season started, let's preview a few other leagues: SCOTLAND: Reigning champions Rangers are aiming for four league titles in a row. However, manager Graeme Souness has recently departed for Liverpool, and it remains to be seen if his replacement, Walter Smith, will be up to the job. Of Course, Liam Brady's Celtic will be the most desperate to stop Rangers, but it was Alex Smith's Aberdeen who took The Gers right down to the wire last season. Syze
Before we kick off the season, let's take a quick look at Spain: SPAIN: Barcelona are the defending champions, while fierce rivals Real Madrid are the most likely to stop them this time around. There have been a few managerial appointments made: So we're ready to kick off the season, starting with Divisions Two, Three and Four, as well as the Scottish Premier League, and the Charity Shield: The Charity Shield will be contested by fierce North London rivals, Arsenal (English Champions) and Spurs (FA Cup Winners). Syze
So, the season is underway: DIVISION TWO: An entertaining draw played out between Blackburn and Wolves: A shocking defeat for Newcastle at ten man Bristol City: Here's the first table of the season: DIVISION THREE: DIVISION FOUR: Let's have a look at Scotland: SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE: Not a great result for Celtic, who were held at home by Airdrie: Aberdeen fared a lot better at Dunfermline: Rangers didn't win, but a point at Tynecastle is not the worst result: The early table: CHARITY SHIELD: Arsenal have lifted the first silverware of the season, coming from behind to beat North London rivals Spurs in the Charity Shield: 1-2 Here's the midweek fixtures: Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
Onto the second round of Divisions Two, Three and Four, and Scottish Premier League fixtures: DIVISION TWO: Following their opening day draw, Blackburn and Wolves move on to record comprehensive victories: But Newcastle have made a terrible start to the season: The table: DIVISION THREE: A Mark Stein hat-trick helped Stoke as they are setting the early pace. The table: DIVISION FOUR: Shaun Goater scored the only goal as Rotherham beat Barnet to remain the only Fourth Division side with a 100% record. A 15 year old Darren Huckerby debuted, and scored, for Lincoln, as they won 2-0 at Wrexham. The table: SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE: Celtic are up and running, while Rangers also record their first win. The table: The First Division kicks off this weekend. Let's take a look at the fixtures: The pick of the games is definitely the televised game at Anfield between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. It also looks like a relatively straight forward start for both Arsenal and Manchester United respectively. Can Newcastle put some points on the board at Southend? A big early season game at Parkhead, as Celtic welcome Aberdeen. The Italian season also gets under way this weekend, as the Super Cup will be contested between Roma and Sampdoria. Syze
So, we are finally at match day one for Division One: DIVISION ONE: A win for defending champions Arsenal, although they found it trickier than they may have expected against Luton: 4-2 Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday played out a stalemate, although Villa will probably have been satisfied with that, having had young debutant, Russell Bullivant, sent off. Wednesday were without the injured duo of Nigel Pearson and Roland Nilsson: 0-0 Chelsea are up and running, a Clive Allen goal enough to see off the challenge of West Ham. Paul Elliott and Ken Monkou were missing from the Chelsea defence, Monkou's condition the more serious of the two, as a dislocated shoulder threatens to sideline him for a few weeks. Hammers midfielder Ian Bishop will be sidelined for a couple of weeks with fractured ribs, but the big blow for West Ham is losing Stuart Slater for an extended period of time due to a torn calf muscle: 1-0 Q.P.R. left it late at Coventry: 1-0 Despite dominating the game, Southampton were beaten at Crystal Palace. Worse news for The Saints is that star player, Matt Le Tisser, won't start his season for several weeks after suffering a double hernia: 2-1 Leeds were the biggest winners of the day as they hammered Manchester City at Elland Road. Eric Cantona and Gary McAllister each bagged a brace: 4-0 A solid if unspectacular start for would-be-champions, Manchester United against Oldham. Captain, Steve Bruce, missed the game with a twisted ankle: 2-0 A Nayim header was enough to bag Spurs all three points at Carrow Road: 0-1 Having defended so well for so long, Notts County will be disappointed to have lost at home to Everton, while Everton will be relieved that the goal finally came: 0-1 Honours were even at Bramall Lane, as Sheffield United and Wimbledon split four goals: 2-2 In the live televised game, Ian Rush bagged himself a hat trick, the second of which was a real pearler, as Liverpool destroyed Nottingham Forest in what must be the performance of the day. Kingsley Black did his side no favours, picking up a second yellow card when his team were 0-1 down. Forest midfield starlet, Roy Keane, missed the game with a virus, while Liverpool's Michael Thomas will be out for a few weeks with a sprained ankle: 4-1 Here is how the first league table of the season looks: Check out the Division One goals by watching Match of the Day: Let's take a look at the other divisions: DIVISION TWO: Newcastle's dreadful start to the season continues, while Middlesbrough are setting the early pace. DIVISION THREE: Stoke, Bournemouth and Bradford all continue to lead the way in Division three, as all maintained their 100% records. DIVISION FOUR: Rotherham remain the only team in Division Four with a 100% record. SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE: Rangers hammered Dundee United, while Celtic edged out Aberdeen in a thriller at Parkhead: ITALIAN SUPER CUP: Roma collected the first silverware of the Italian season, edging out league champions, Sampdoria, in the Super Cup: Let's preview the next round of fixtures: There is a full midweek schedule of Division One games. Leeds face a tough trip to White Hart Lane on Wednesday evening, while there is an early season Nottingham derby at The City Ground. For the rest of the divisions, the League Cup kicks off: The Spanish season also starts, as Atletico Madrid and Barcelona contest the Super Cup: Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
Onto the midweek Division One fixtures, following up on the opening day: DIVISION ONE: It's four more goals for Champions Arsenal, and two more for Ian Wright, as The Gunners hammer Oldham: 1-4 Sheffield Wednesday had most of the play against Crystal Palace, but Stan Collymore bagged the only goal at Hillsborough: 0-1 Chelsea edged out Wimbledon in a tedious affair at Selhurst Park: 0-1 Kevin Sheedy was at the double as Everton cruised past Norwich: 3-0 Major upset at Kenilworth Road, as Luton came from behind to beat Liverpool. This was no fluke either, Luton were worthy winners: 2-1 Man City bounced back from their opening day hammering at Elland Road to beat Coventry at Maine Road. City's sub 'keeper, Martyn Margetson was forced to come on up front for he final few minutes, after Niall Quinn went off with a thigh strain which will sideline him for a couple of weeks: 1-0 Nottingham Forest will be disappointed that they failed to take their chances, as cross city rivals, Notts County, came from behind to take a point at The City Ground: 1-1 Q.P.R. and Aston Villa shared the spoils in an entertaining encounter at Loftus Road. Ron Atkinson is really giving youth a chance at Villa Park this season, having handed debuts to Russell Bullivant and Steve Froggatt on the opening day, he has now given 16 year old Riccardo Scimeca a debut in defence. Scimeca was subbed off at half-time though: 2-2 Honours were even at The Dell between Southampton and Sheffield United. Brian Deane was strangely dropped by The Blades, despite scoring on the opening day: 1-1 Leeds followed up their opening day demolition of Man City with a fine win at White Hart Lane. Gary Speed and Gary Lineker each bagged a brace, so it was left Gordon Strachan to separate the sides: 2-3 Man United sneaked past West Ham at Upton Park: 1-2 So the table looks like this: Six teams still have a 100% record, while four teams are yet to register a point. Watch the Division One goals on Match of the Day: The League Cup has kicked off with the first round first legs: In Spain, Barcelona will take a 2-1 advantage back to the Nou Camp for the second leg of their Super Cup tie with Atletico Madrid: Let's take a look at what's coming up this weekend: Someone's 100% record will end when Leeds host Everton in the day's televised late kick off. Blackburn v Ipswich, Newcastle v Leicester, and Sunderland v Middlesbrough are the big games in Division Two. This weekend sees the league season kick off in Italy's Serie A, with Juventus v Inter the pick of the games: Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. JamesTheSuperBlue
This looks fantastic. I think I might have to re-download FM16 just to play it. Will be fun to Takeover my team Southend and see what I can do with them in Division 2. After hammering Newcastle 4-0 at home on New Year’s Day 1992 we sat top of Division 2. Unfortunately manager David Webb had a very public falling-out with chairman Vic Jobson later in January and announced his intention to walk away at the end of the season. The negativity flowed trough the team and we faded away to finish 10th. Many a Southend fan feels we’d have been possible founding members of the Premier League were it not for the drama behind-the-scenes. 2 questions I have from the screenshots. Firstly, are the stadium capacities all-seater or have you brought back standing for most of them, as was the case at the time? Second, have a look at Stan Collymore. I wouldn’t have him as even a starter at Palace. He floundered as a winger in their reserves. Wasn’t until Southend signed him before the 1992/93 season and converted him to a striker that he suddenly turned it on. Also, what safeguards have you put in place to protect against rapid inflation of transfer fees, wages and influx of overseas players into the English League? Since neither of these things really started to really happen for another 4+ years.

Since neither of these things really started to really happen for another 4+ years. Hi, thanks for the feedback. I have updated the stadiums to as they were at the time, I used the Rothman's handbook to do it so they aren't all seaters. What can I do about Collymore? He became one of the best strikers in England in the early-mid 90s, I don't want to remove his stats. There's a player called Richard Bullivant at Villa who amounted to nothing there, he has weak stats, but for some reason he's getting in the team. I have adjusted the transfer fees and wages in the editor for every nation, but for some reason while transfer fees remain quite low, the wages sky rocket in the second the season. There doesn't seem to be a way around this. I haven't really safeguarded on foreign imports, what would you suggest? I also have just a summer transfer window, but that's personal preference, in the next update I will change it to reflect the times.
Syze
DIVISION ONE: An Alvin Martin own goal in the first minute was enough to give Arsenal all three points against West Ham. Arsenal knocked on the door, but the floodgates never opened: 1-0 Dalian Atkinson came into the starting lineup for Aston Villa, replacing Dwight Yorke against Man City, and his brace was the difference between the two teams: 2-0 Vinnie Jones struck against his former club, Sheffield United, as Chelsea eked out their third straight 1-0 win. Brian Deane was recalled for The Blades: 1-0 Spurs comfortably beat Coventry at Highfield Road. Peter Shreeves rang the changes for Spurs, dropping Erik Thorstvedt in favour of Ian Walker in goal. Thorstvedt would see action however, coming on to play outfield when Gascoigne limped off late on. Gudni Bergsson, Justin Edinburgh, and Paul Wlash also started: 1-3 Honours even at Selhurst Park, as both Crystal Palace and Q.P.R. failed to register. Palace were the better team, but couldn't find the breakthrough: 0-0 Liverpool bounced back from their Luton disappointment to crush Oldham at Anfield. Ian Rush, who scored a hat trick last weekend against, bagged all four goals this time around. Dean Saunders was brought in in place of Ronny Rosenthal, but hobbled off with a sprained ankle after just three minutes: 4-0 Man Utd continue to be efficient if unspectacular, putting points on the board without yet hitting top gear: 2-0 Norwich and Nottingham Forest played out a fair 2-2 draw at Carrow Road. Forest will be disappointed they couldn't hold on for their first win of the season. For Norwich, it's a first point on the board: 2-2 Both Notts County and Luton will have earmarked this fixture as a chance to pick up three points, and both will be disappointed to leave with one. County sub 'keeper, Kevin Blackwell, was forced into outfield action when Dean Thomas hobbled off. That's three sub 'keepers coming on to play outfield so far this season: 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday recorded their first win of the season, while Southampton are still looking for theirs: 3-1 In the televised late kick-off, Leeds maintained their 100% record by ending Everton's. The highlight was a rare goal for David Batty. Young right-back, Gary Kelly, made his senior debut, when he replaced Mel Sterland in the 84th minute: 3-1 Here's the table: Two 100% records are gone, while each of the bottom three have yet to pick up a point. Watch the goals on Match of the Day: DIVISION TWO: Big win for Ipswich at Blackburn. Newcastle finally have a point, while top of the table Middlesbrough won at Sunderland: Derby have made a poor start to the season. DIVISION THREE: Bournemouth are the only Division Three team with a 100% record. DIVISION FOUR: Shaun Goater bagged all four goals as Rotherham maintained the only 100% record in the Fourth Division. SCOTLAND: ITALY: Serie A has kicked off - Marco van Basten and Gabriel Batistuta scored the goals as Milan and Fiorentina shared the points at the San Siro: Juventus brushed aside Inter: Let's have a look at what's coming up in midweek: Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
There were a few midweek matches: DIVISION TWO: Derby's terrible start to the season continues, while Brighton pulled off an upset at Ipswich. LEAGUE CUP: No major upsets in the League Cup, although Northampton overturned a 0-3 first leg deficit against Swansea. Here's the second round draw: Nothing too outstanding, I'd say that Middlesbrough v Everton and Swindon V Liverpool are the pick of the ties. SCOTLAND: The only real shock in the Scottish League Cup was Partick eliminating Hibs on penalties. ITALY: SPAIN: Barcelona have lifted the Super Cup in Spain, beating Atletico Madrid 5-2 on aggregate. Graham Taylor has announced his England squad for the forthcoming European Championship qualifiers against Lithuania and Slovenia: U21s: U19s: Here's what's coming up this weekend: Newcastle v Middlesbrough and Wolves v Derby are the big Division Two matches this weekend. We have the first Old Firm of the season. Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. Syze
DIVISION ONE: Everton really need to improve, they were very lucky to get a point at home to Coventry. Teenage striker, Peter Ndlovu, debuted and scored for The Sky Blues: 1-1 Two teams that need a win couldn't manage one at Kenilworth Road: 0-0 Crystal Palace continued their fine start to the season at Maine Road. Man City need to improve drastically: 0-1 A draw away to Forest isn't a bad result, but Leeds will feel they played well enough to win. Forest are still without a win. Tony Dorigo has a groin strain and has been replaced in the England squad by Man Utd's Gary Pallister. Here he was replaced by Mike Whitlow. Youngster Jon Newsome started in the centre of the Leeds defence in place of Chris Fairclough, and will be pleased with his performance. Young midfielder Roy Keane made his first start of the season for Forest: 0-0 Oldham picked up a big three points against Notts County in a bad tempered affair. County scored first, but were let down by Craig Short, who was sent off for two bookable offences. Even worse for Short, the resultant free kick from his second yellow card foul led to the winning goal for Graeme Sharp. Young striker, Tommy Johnson, came into the Notts Co starting lineup, replacing the goal shy Paul Rideout: 2-1 QPR came from behind to beat Sheffield Wednesday at Loftus Road: 2-1 Mark Hughes scored to salvage a point for Man Utd at Bramall Lane: 1-1 Along with Leeds and Man Utd, Chelsea's 100% record is gone as they went down 1-3 to Southampton at The Dell. Chelsea took an early lead, and dominated the match in terms of chances, but succumbed to three goals from corners. Dennis Wise was sent off for two bookable offences: 3-1 A flurry of late goals at White Hart Lane saw Aston Villa hammer Spurs. Villa have made a good start to the season, Spurs not so much. Dalian Atkinson bagged another brace: 1-4 Champions Arsenal are the only team in the division left with a 100% record. Again it was "1-0 to the Arsenal", Ian Wright poaching the decisive goal: 0-1 The shock of the day came at Upton Park, where Trevor Morley tore Liverpool apart. The Reds simply couldn't cope with Morley's movement and finishing: 3-0 Arsenal are in a familiar spot, while the bottom four have all yet to register a win. Everyone has at least a point by now. Watch the goals on Match of the Day: DIVISION TWO: Newcastle v Middlesbrough failed to live up to expectations. Derby got a much needed win at Wolves. Young striker, Marcus Stewart, bagged a hat trick as Bristol Rovers hammered Brighton. DIVISION THREE: DIVISION FOUR: SCOTLAND: Rangers won the first Old Firm of the season, Mark Hateley scoring both goals for the home side: ITALY: Two games into Serie A, and only Juventus and Atalanta have a 100% record: It's time for an International break. The European competitions are also set to kick off. Here are our next fixtures: Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE. JamesTheSuperBlue
Good stuff. Just wondering as I'm thinking of doing a 1997/98 retro database but would obviously like the actual kits and club logos from the time. But I'm nowhere near good enough to make them myself. Syze
England's European Championship qualification is on course: In a 'home nations' battle, Ireland beat Scotland: The England U21s are doing well also: DIVISION TWO: A much need win for Newcastle. Glenn Hoddle rolled back the years to give his Swindon side three points at Leicester. Newcastle are finally finding their feet. Another win for table-topping Watford. A terrible result for Sunderland. In a clash of the top two at Vicarage Road, it was league leaders Watford who emerged victorious. Blackburn were battered at home by Bristol City, high-flying Oxford won at St. James' Park. Watford already have a four point cushion between themselves and the chasing pack. Newcastle are finally moving up the table: DIVISION THREE: Mark Stein's goals have fired Stoke to the top of the table. Honours even between the top two. Preston look like they are in big trouble: DIVISION FOUR: Rotherham are looking very strong: SCOTLAND: ITALY: The European Competitions are under way: EUROPEAN CUP: Mark Hateley followed up his Old Firm brace with a hat trick in Helsinki: UEFA CUP: Palace got a great result at Troyes: Leeds should be through: Celtic also got a good result in Germany: The awards are in for the first month: As manager of the only team with a 100% record intact, George Graham was the only choice for Manager of the Month: With seven goals in four games, Liverpool striker, Ian Rush, is the Player of the Month: Rush also scored the goal of the month: Let's have a look at what's coming up: The televised game between Man Utd and Chelsea is definitely the biggest match this weekend. A big derby in Division Two as Sunderland host Newcastle. Middlesbrough v Swindon also looks like a decent match. Birmingham V Bradford is the pick of the Division Three games. Syze
DIVISION ONE: Again, it was "1-0 to the Arsenal," as The Gunners did just enough. Alan Smith made his first start of the season and grabbed the only goal, although he looked suspiciously offside: 1-0 The in-form Dalian Atkinson inspired Aston Villa's win over an Everton side that have made a poor start to the season: 2-0 Nottingham Forest's poor start to the season continued, as they threw away a 1-0 lead to lose at Coventry: 2-1 Liverpool were missing Ian Rush due to flu, for the visit of Wimbledon. In Rush's place, Graeme Souness selected 16 year-old Robbie Fowler, who repaid his manager's faith with a goal: 2-0 A terrible result for Norwich, as they went down 1-3 at home to Oldham. The silver lining for Norwich was a goal for young striker Chris Sutton on his first start of the season: 1-3 If West Ham are to stay up, it looks like it will be due in no small part to Trevor Morley's goals: 0-3 A Les Ferdinand brace helped QPR to victory over Southampton, despite Andy Impey putting through his own net inside 20 seconds: 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday's poor start to the season continued, as Niall Quinn scored a late winner for Man City at Hillsborough: 0-1 A huge mixup between Peter Schmeichel and Gary Pallister cost Man Utd two points against Chelsea. Young Northern Irish winger, Adrian Doherty, made his debut for Man Utd: 1-1 In the Sunday match, Crystal Palace and Spurs played out a goalless draw: 0-0 Check out the goals on Match of the Day: The table: Arsenal have a four point lead over the chasing pack, although Leeds can cut that to two with their game in hand. Aston Villa have snuck into second place. With five games played, there are still five teams without a win. DIVISION TWO: Sunderland claimed the early season Tyne-Wear bragging rights. Leaders Watford slipped up at Grimsby, and second placed Middlesbrough took full advantage. DIVISION THREE: Honours even between Birmingham and Bradford. Stoke continue to march on. Preston got a much needed win. DIVISION FOUR: Rotherham show no signs of letting up. SCOTLAND: With Rangers in League Cup action, Motherwell have moved to the top of the Premier League table: ITALY: SPAIN: LA LIGA has kicked off: Wins for Barcelona and Real Madrid. Here's what's coming up in midweek: Chelsea v Arsenal is the biggest match of the week. Third placed Swansea host first placed Stoke. Carlito85
Great job with this. Really appreciate the time and effort that must have gone into this, and can only hope that further down the line SI can find a way to release older databases in their entirety for us to go through again. For a while I've been tempted to recreate the 2001-2002 season and copy the stats for everyone from that game, but it's a mammoth task to take on. I know it's a long shot but any chance of a conversion for FM18, or maybe even FM19?

Syze
DIVISION ONE: A trip to an Oldham side that had won their last two games looked tricky on paper, but on grass Leeds blew Oldham away: 1-4 Ian Rush was back and among the goals, as Liverpool picked up their first points on the road: 0-2 A terrible day all around for Notts County as they went down 0-2 to Wimbledon, losing two players to injury, and having two sent off in the process: 2-0 In the big London derby at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal swept aside Chelsea, keeping yet another clean sheet in the process: 0-2 A Tony Cottee double helped Everton to a much needed win, and condemned Crystal Palace to their first defeat of the season. The only downside for Everton is an injury to Pat Nevin that will keep him sidelined for a few weeks: 2-0 A big win for Luton, as they came from behind to beat Coventry: 3-1 Honours even between Man City and QPR at Maine Road, although City will feel they did enough to win, while Rangers will be disappointed they couldn't hold out for the three points: 1-1 Nottingham Forest were on their way to their first win of the season, but blew a 2-0 lead at home to Aston Villa. Dalian Atkinson continued his scoring streak: 2-2 Southampton took their chances to spring a shock on Manchester United: 2-1 There was nothing to separate Spurs and Sheffield Wednesday, two sides that are yet to really get going this season: 1-1 Trevor Morley is the most in-form player in the league at the moment - he bagged another hat tick as West Ham destroyed Norwich. Norwich have made a terrible start to the season: 4-1 Arsenal have made an incredible start o the season. Leeds really need to win their game in hand to stop them getting too far ahead. QPR have made a better start than anticipated, they're still unbeaten. The bottom three are still without a win: Watch the day's goals on Match of the Day: DIVISION TWO: Blackburn haven't made the start to the season they'd have been hoping for. DIVISION THREE: Harry Redknapp's Bournemouth put five past Chester. Bournemouth have replaced Stoke at the top, after a late Swansea goal denied Stoke three points at Vetch Field. DIVISION FOUR: A couple of talented youngsters among the goals as Blackpool beat Crewe 3-2. SCOTLAND: Aberdeen knocked Rangers out of the League Cup on penalties. Here's the semi-final draw: Only one Premier League match, Hibs beating St. Mirren. ITALY: SPAIN: Just a couple of LA LIGA matches, including another win for Real Madrid. Coming up this weekend: A huge game at Highbury, as Arsenal host Man Utd. In form West Ham travel to Leeds. Liverpool host Chelsea, while Norwich will be looking for three points at home to Wimbledon. Rangers will be out for revenge when Aberdeen return to Ibrox. Hearts and Hibs meet in the first Edinburgh derby of the season. Juventus v Napoli is the big match in Italy. Syze
DIVISION ONE: A Tony Daley brace helped Aston Villa sneak past Luton, who will feel they played well enough to earn a point. Following David Jones in the last match, Bryan Small became yet another youngster to make his Villa debut this season. 2-1 There was a stalemate at Highfield Road between Coventry and Oldham, although Oldham were the better team: 0-0 Things finally clicked for Nottingham Forest and their front two, as Sheringham and Clough scored to bag three excellent points for Forest at Crystal Palace: 0-2 In-form West Ham took advantage of a Mike Whitlow mistake to take an early lead at Elland Road, but a Gary Speed hat trick inspired The Whites to another resounding victory. The Hammers will have been worried to see Trevor Morley go off injured, but it doesn't look too bad: 5-1 Liverpool swung into top gear to demolish Chelsea at Anfield: 4-0 Southampton followed up their win over Man Utd, with an excellent victory over the other half of Manchester: 0-2 Norwich got a much needed win at home to Wimbledon. The only downside for The Canaries is a torn groin muscle by Chris Sutton, which will sideline the young striker for a couple of months: 4-1 Neil Warnock will be very frustrated by seeing his side concede an injury time equaliser at home to Sheffield United: 1-1 Roy Wegerle turned in the individual performance of the season so far, as he bagged all five goals as QPR thrashed Spurs. Things are not going well for Spurs: 5-1 Another brace for Tony Cottee as Everton left Hillsborough with three points: 1-2 Paul Ince scored to end Arsenal's 100% record. Honours even at Highbury, and rightfully so. Both sides made changes up front, with Kevin Campbell and Brian McClair coming in for their first starts of the season: 1-1 Leeds have cut the gap to leaders Arsenal down to three points, while also having a game in hand. Liverpool, Villa and QPR have all made a good start to the season. Everton have shot up the table. Norwich's win over Wimbledon moves them out of the bottom three, while The Dons drop in. Sheffield United and Notts County's 1-1 draw means both remain winless: Watch the days goals on Match of the Day: DIVISION TWO: Here's a few players that were among the goals that are worth taking a look at: Watford have a four point advantage over second placed Middlesbrough: SCOTLAND: There was nothing to separate Rangers and Aberdeen. Hearts hammered their local rivals Hibs, and are top the table: ITALY: Juventus edged out Napoli in a thriller: SPAIN: Here's what's coming up midweek: Don't forget, if you want to play the Football Manager 1991-92 database, you can download it for free HERE.
