Ironman in FM 19 for tryhards.

Ironman is an optional gameplay flag, that restricts the player's control over their save file, effectively removing the ability to correct mistakes and change decisions made during the course of play. Ironman mode can be enabled from the settings screen when starting a new campaign.

FM 19 should be with ironman mode for those who want to play hard, so that only with this mode achievements are given out. The player wont be able to choose a team at the beginning and will start unemployed. The player wont be able to choose his past and will start from … (don't know, but not from world class player). The player wont be able to choose features for themselves. The player wont be able to use the players from the workshop. The player wont be able to buy some features that can not be in real life and make it easier for the player's career and other.

Last time I played football manager 2014 and don't know about something in football manager 2018, so sorry if this mode already exists in football manager.

And will be great for me if game will have option to generate name of coach. For example: (Russia) Leonid … (England) James … (Poland) Kamil … and other.

While I can see why some might want it, what exactly does it bring to have SI code this in as standard, rather than just putting all those restrictions on yourself?  It's a single player game, you're not competing against anyone else, so surely you can just put them all on yourself and run the save with those kinds of challenges built in yourself?

There is a trend for people playing other single player games like the Paradox strategy series to have a mode where they can (i) avoid the temptation to save/reload and (ii) prove it when showing off to friends or completing steam achievements. It's not dissimilar in intent to the "disable editor" function in the existing version.

Whether implementing it in FM is worth the engineering time or not is another question.

Yeah, I get that there's modes like that, and the attractiveness of them.  The single player comment was purely because you don't have to worry about you sticking to certain rules and others just blowing you out of the water.  FM is so closed off in terms of other players affecting your game that you could do everything mentioned in the OP yourself if you were so inclined.  The "boasting" part always comes up around these things as a reason that these things should be mandated in code, but is that really a good enough reason for the extra work?

you can always set autosave every day and make it roll just one save.

im guessing you got that idea from Xcom? it can be made a real thing, an actual tick box before starting a save so the temtation is not there, i mean, i try to play without reloading, but man...i just can't seem to accept that as a Premier side i lose against a 5th tier team in the fa cup...i guess one thing is wanting to and other is actually imposing it to yourself, is like doing diet, we want to lose fat, but you still want to eat a cookie or a fried chicken daily

Ironman mode would be an awesome addition, but I think what would be even more phenomenal is to make a mode that combines

1) Randomly generated unreal players

2) Player attribute masking

3) Making the savegames impossible to be read by anything else(like fmscout or others that can show more than the game itself)

4) Ironman mode

I guess 3 can be done via encrypting the savegames.

While i am a big fan of rogue games (and i really can't stop myself to ragequit fm, once in a while): since nethack, there has always been a workaround to cheat on ironman/rogue mode too.

One would still need the discipline not to do so.

Although i feel there is no need for such a mode, i would still appreciate it to help discipline myself.  But i think there is no need to attach special achievements to it (maybe one or two would be ok).

However, i dislike the idea of random gen players for such a mode.

Much immersion would be lost (for me).

Well, those 4 I listed can all be tickboxes to combine as you like, I think.

I really lose my taste when you can get the feeling that you can have perfect information and have the possibility of doing everything yourself for getting the perfect result out of everything. I can't help but try that and then the game takes forever.

The whole issue with reload is down to personal choices. I have never been one to do it as what Is the point in playing the game. We’re is the buzz the satisfaction if your just gonna basically cheat yourself out of the enjoyment. if there was a mode that stopped that people would still find a way or get bored when they get beat and start again. For me you can discipline yourself to make all the restrictions anyway.

This is just for player that can't discipline themself. But most of players are not that discipline, i think this will be great for optional restiction in multi player games, because the pre condition is the same and we can see who will be on top of the other human manager

I'd use it if the db was up to my standard. But I have to make 15,000 changes before I start a game to consider it playable so this is just something that will simply make me not play the game at all in the long run.

I assume changing clubs' reputations and players' abilities would not make any db file compatible with an Ironman mode as these changes could very well be 200/200 for half your intended squad.
