Dele Alli or Breel Embolo?

Recommended Posts

Currently in my 3rd season with Everton, this is how my squad looks like, and my tactics;

I have had the chance to buy either Breel Embolo or Dele Alli in January transfer window. Based on my squad and tactics, who would you buy?

They play different positions?

I assume you would only play Embolo up front? I can't see where else he'd fit...

Alli would be a great upgrade on Barkley..

Unless you want more options for a different system, you seem to lack some right sided attackers

To me, Alli is by far the better player, but looking at your squad it looks like you need a striker more. I would probably still buy Alli though, have him as a starting AMC and maybe train him to become a backup striker as well in case of an injury crisis up top (putting back in Barkley/Amico/Sigurdsson at AMC).

Yes they are. Perhaps I should rephrase my question;

Based on the players that I currently have, should I buy Embolo to upgrade my strikers or should I opt for Alli instead as an upgrade to Barkley?

Sorry if I'm being misunderstood @Welshace

Training Alli to be a striker seems like an exciting idea! He definitely has the required attributes to be a good if not a great one. I have successfully retrained Ademola Lookman to be a striker and he's doing really well.
