tpm Posted November 21, 2008 Share Posted November 21, 2008 I just can't get my tactics right at all. Played a season on my old computer. I was 5th most of the season but in the last 4 games all I needed was a point to secure 5th but my team just wouldn't play lost all the games. Worst of all was my last game with Friedel letting in a shot from the half way line that barely even rolled over the line. He should have just picked it up but instead just side stepped and let it roll past him. It didn't even reach the net I was so angry. We finished 9th and all my decent players ended up leaving. Today I have spent the whole day trying to build a tactic that might work but nothing I do has any success. Tried using ones from the tactics forum but nothing works. Posted November 21, 2008 Share Posted November 21, 2008 Ive just finished my first villa season in 13th squad harmony is so low you cant even see it on the bar but got 3 quality youngsters coming in during the summer Sanchez at udinese for £5.25m Fausto Rossi at juventus for £1.1m Gabriel Obertan at bordeaux for £5.5m They were all offered to me btw. Will be looking to sell barry and shorey in the summer hopefully ill be given more money to spend when the season ends. Finished 7th 5 points for 5th and Semis in Uefa cup, veloso did well first season won some games for me ronaldo(fat) ha love it Couldnt describe him in a better way at the time, should of said the "brazilian" one check out axel witsel guys his stats are immense. will do would it be worth retraining him to a CM position? This includes a 4-0 win at Anfield Won one & lost one in the UEFA Cup group stage. Lost 4-1 to Ipswich in the Carling Cup. claretnbluearmy Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 sold the usual...knight,harewood,salifou,taylor...brought in caceres(loan barca) eidur g(loan barca) d costa(gremio arriving in jan) veloso(sporting) witsel(standard) played 3-5-2 as hav lots of c.b options. 10 games, won 6,drew 0, lost 4. beat man utd away after counter-attacking and chelsea at home....but lost home to m'boro, away to newcastle and spurs. so doing well against the big boys but not so good against weaker( like real life villa!) need a good c.f and veloso,carew,eidur hav not been performing consistantly. 3-5-2 works well but occasionally opposition wingers can cause trouble. may try new formation if there is any successful 1s out there 4 the villa team agree bout friedel underrated and a young/gabby. 4.5 mill for harewood...i was laughing all the way to the bank Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Finished 7th in the league & won the FA cup, also made it to the 2nd KO round of the UEFA cup (beat AC Milan in the previous round). I have just had to sell Cuellar as he demanded a move. Got £20m for him from Real Madrid. Also sold Sidwell for £5m & Carew for £7.5m. Brought in Huntelaar (£7.5m), Caceres (£11m), Radoi (£3.4m) & Di Maria (£6m).
