Why does it no make sense? If you want to tutor a player he should be during the training with you in the same team/group.

Just now, Seb Wassell said:

Players actually have to train and spend time together to mentor one another. In reality players outside of the same squad very rarely spend time together.

Hmm I guess. Just going to have to adapt my youth producing regime then! Loving the beta so far apart from that though :)

Surely in most cases, those being mentored will be youth players; thus be in either the U23 or U18 squad? Kind of defeats the object a tad? Is there a workaround by placing them in the senior squad but making them available for the U23s?

I was thinking of that but would make your squads a bit messy and could cause problems. Would be nice just to have the option to put players from all squads in there

I *think* it's only one more than FM18?

It *might* be! The thing is imo they were already too many in FM18, or at least the optimal combination of stars/workload was/is too demanding. Most clubs irl for example have only one GK coach, and don't really have 'specialist' coaches a la FM (or NFL!), except for multiple fitness coaches. Though I admit it's always been fun for me to search and hire dozens of coaches for first team and reserve/youth squads!

Another bit of feedback:

When you offer someone out on loan and get multiple offers, on FM18 you could see next to each offer what their expected squad status would be and accept or reject quickly. Now you have to go into the transfer centre, and into each individual offer to see that. Idk if it's maybe bc I'm playing on a low res monitor atm but think it would be best to be able to see that upfront so you can mass accept/reject offers quickly based on whether they will get first team football

In reality your experienced 32yr old centre back is very unlikely to interact with your fresh from the academy 16yr old right back. He probably doesn't even know/care who he is. In mentoring we've retained the ability to have players work and learn from one another but brought in more realism and removed some of the slightly exploitative aspects of the old system.

For me it was the forced and exploitative nature of the old system that had to go. The new system maybe isn't perfect in its application to smaller / semi-pro clubs*, but I'd rather have it slightly unrealistic in that direction than the human player being forced to constantly game the mechanic in previous versions.

*although granted in smaller/semi pro clubs it is far easier and more realistic to stick youths into the first team squad where they can then be tutored...

Maybe the answer is that in reality most clubs don't have the equivalent of 5* and 'light' in every area

Feel free to post any suggestions in our feature request section for future consideration :)

I just hired a new u18 manager and the game defaulted me to handling u18 friendlies (which I never had been before).

Easily fixed but can't imagine it was intended.

Please report this in the Bugs forum-thanks

Maybe add an option for a promising player in the u18’s to train with the 1st team

This might be because of my small screen, but it seems like the player's name in the tactic screen seems to be squished up. Other than that I just need time to get my head around this (going from FM17 to FM19) so its properly going to take time.

You can do this via adding him to the senior squad.

It is possible to add a player from another squad to that squad's training units, but you do need to add him to the squad proper in order for him to be mentored. The player needs to be spending time with his mentor both on and off the field for it to take effect.

I hope my boys at AFC Wimbledon don't care about fitness, as the quality of coaching is barely 1 star.

I'd hire a fitness coach as we have zero at the club, but I can't even ask the board to hire one.

Still getting columns resizing and disappearing, in particular on the tactics screen - until auto resized all is clicked. Same old FM

This is something for the bugs forum.

@Seb Wassell - Is it really advisable to set double intensity for players who are >90% condition?

That would depend on a few other things, time of season, the player himself, etc.

I'm not going to give away too much here, half the fun is discovering what works for you :)

Ehh… for me it’s a disappointment to see that the gameplay’s pace hasn’t increased compared with FM18 or compared with any previous versions and it has become even more slower. :(

Now it takes more time to accomplish things in FM19 than it was in FM18 and I must add that I’m not the only one who thinks that FM18 was already very slow.

Hi folks, how do you make the 'play bar' hide during the match unless you want to view it? You can normally select this option but I can't see how I can select this. Being constantly on the screen, takes up a sizable amount & is distracting. Many thanks

Is this a bug or something i'm not doing right please?

That makes no sense and is a terrible change then in my opinion.

Just move who you want to mentor to senior squad and make available for u23/u18, simples

I have just noticed something and I am not sure if this is intended.

The widget at home page (such as finance salary, scouting centre, pending transfers etc) is constantly changing around. Is this intended or should I report this as a bug?

That's just gaming the system though. The whole reason it was changed was to prevent the exploitative nature of senior players tutoring youngsters (that they wouldn't give the time of day to in real life) as a quick fix to get some of their stats up. This has been a great change IMO, and is now more realistic.

Can anyone post some regen screenshots? Would like to see how the faces look in FM19.

These are staff I've hired but I assume its the same graphic. I think they look a million miles better than FM18, just waiting to see how much variety there is between them. It isn't wholly unrealistic that a bunch of scottish lads look pretty similar.

I've definitely noticed a lot of them seem to have have spotty / alcoholic noses, but see above comment re scottish lads.

Didn't think of it that way and get your point, but even with tutoring in 18 if i got a senior to tutor a young kid, i generally wouldn't do it for a 16/17yo unless they were very special, It would always be some u23 who I was hoping to give a bit of game during the 6 months of tutoring with full intentions of developing them, so moving them to the seniors always made sense put them on bench if injuries/suspensions allow for the full bonding experience with the squad as well.

I've still yet to start in game yet just prepping for tomorrow so can't comment on the new system, just seems the right way to me.

A lot of rain and cold weather could also do that. :D

I've got a very good PC, it's based on “Ryzen Threadripper 1900X” CPU, also it has SSD.

As I said even with such good PC, I find that FM19 is very slow and I can only image how it feels for people with worse PC spec.

Please start a thread in the crashes and technical issue bug forum. It's really not slow, there must be an issue with your specific pc or graphic card.

@KUBI can you confirm if this is a bug I need to report?
