Bigmonkey79
2nd season and we slip into the Champions League places plenty of points behind the others. Look at Leicester There's definitely some weakness in the set pieces in this ME. Pontus and Cooper come up for every throw, corner and free kick but neither are 10 goal a year boys... If I secure a Euro place in any competition the squad is looking very lightweight.

I'm now in Jan first season and have Dennis Diekmeier performing well (Ayling suffered broken leg late Sept and is a few weeks from returning). Dunno if to recall Coyle but need him playing games. It'll be difficult in first season in PL to have playing time for Diekmeier, Ayling, Coyle and Shackleton (trained him as a WB during Ayling injury). Also, how well have Clarke, Phillips, Pearce, Shackleton progressed? For European squad registrations I'd imagine they're pretty important, and always great to have some local Leeds lads in. TF
My Leeds save looks to be coming too an early end. We started the season great, around 10 games in we were sitting comfortably in the top 3, but then injuries and fatigue hit leaving us with a very limited squad. We went 5 games without a win, most of which were losses, but we managed to turn this around and went 5 games unbeaten, 3 wins and 2 draws, but once again we got plagued by injuries, meaning we went on a 6 game streak without a win, sitting 13th in the table. Players are distressed, morale at an all time low and to top it off, both Pablo Hernandez and Samu Saiz have handed in transfer requests. The board have told me to keep the job I need 11 points from my next 5 games, the first of which was a 1-1 draw against top of the league Derby. I now have 4 games to gain 10 points or i'm gone. Hopefully I can turn it around, but i'm not too sure. I've seen that my team are very capable, but unfortunately it's been less often than we've needed. I've just got to January in my first season and sold Ayling to West Brom for £12 mill (9 mill upfront, 2 mill in installments over 24 months and 1 mill after 50 appearances). TF
January transfer window is over and done with, think I may have brought a few too many in, but wanted to make sure we had enough cover in positions where we've been plagued by injury. Obilor has been amazing at the back so far, so happy to pick him up on a free. Also managed to keep hold of both Saiz and Hernandez, also came close to losing Jansson to Stoke, but luckily managed to keep him around. Just picked up a 3-1 win against Rotherham, hopefully the start of us turning our season around.

macca72
So after a bit of messing around I've started what is my first medium / long term save. Transfers so far Oxford I have for 2 seasons as he's a monster on my game, will easily grow to be one of the best defenders in europe. Marin is brilliant. Wollscheid was brought in as back-up, back-up or if I need to switch to 3 at the back for any reason. Started superbly in the league And this in the cup. Don't be fooled by the stats, we we're 3-0 up and going amazingly well until we had the man sent off, closed up shop for long periods after that. Plan for January will be to ship out a few and try to bring in.. GK - BPF is fine as back-up and Blackman can go back RB - I'll bring Coyle back and have been looking at Jeandro Fuchs - He has PSG & Arsenal in for him and his contract is running down. Will also see if I get any offers for Ayling. CM - Would like a Premier League CM so Baker can go back OR Saiz / Klich get sold (all depending on the money) Haaland just looks incredible, I really, really want to sign him. Anyone got any news on how he's done / if and when he becomes attainable

JJSaxton
January Update - Season 1 So after a far few restarts and purchasing many different players I finally settled on a plan that I wanted to work with. Offloaded the usual suspects at the start of the season plus Samu Saiz on loan as he wouldn't get the game time in my formation and terminated all the loans apart from Jamal Blackman and Jack Harrison (both of which are really good players for the championship level). In January had interest in probably 10 of the squad but only received offers on 6 players. Luke Ayling - Sold to West Brom for £11m in total, Adam Forshaw - Sold to Stoke for £7.5m total, Pawel Cibicki - Sold to Derby for £1.7m, David Garcia - Who I signed for £2.5m I sold on for £2.4m as I really didn't like him and he always looked to struggle when in the squad. Received offers on Pontus Jansson for £12.5m but rejected this as hes worth more than that surely!?! And a bid from Crystal Palace for Ezgjan Alioski for £9.75m but again rejected as I think he should make me more if I sell once promoted. Transfer roundup below: Not sure how you guys are doing it but I struggled to make a 4231 or 41221 which was consistent and gave up in the end going for a slight tweak on a 442. Found my best starting line up to be the below: Currently sat at the top of the league with a decent gap to 2nd, so barring a massive injury problem then promotion should be pretty much a given. Will update when Leeds are in the Premier League once again *fingers crossed*

tobybilton1
So my first full season of this year's game came to an end, and it was a productive won with the final home game a festival at Elland Rd, with Jack Clarke grabbing his first league goal after a few in the cup. Then came a 1-0 win at Ipswich on the final day of the season. Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Tom Pearce and Kalvin Phillips all made it into the best XI, along with Antonio Marin, who was the only player I spent money on. Kalvin Phillips deservedly won the fan's player of the season award after bossing the midfield and finishing with the league's highest average rating. Chelsea loanees Lewis Baker and Izzy Brown were sent back on Jan 1st with Manuel Lanzini, Juan Foyth and Jurgen Locadia coming in on cheap loan deals. And with money to spend immediately after promotion was guaranteed with four games to spare, three major transfers have been concluded quickly. There's still a hefty budget left to spend and with the future's of Kemar Roofe, Liam Cooper, Adam Forshaw, Luke Ayling, Patrick Bamford and even Samu Saiz not certain, funds can be raised to bring in real quality. Just who that me be only time will tell. A great season all in all. MOT!

TF
So, thanks to some excellent performances from players brought in during the January transfer window, we go into the last game of the season like this. It's been an excellent turn around, though we did recently drop points to Birmingham and Brentford, both of which are struggling in the bottom half of the table, otherwise we'd have promotion all wrapped up. Finally managed to adapt my tactics so when we have a mass amount of injuries, we have a formations and playing styles that work with the players available too us. Will be back very soon after the last game of the season, we play Ipswich, West Brom have Derby and Reading are at home to Birmingham. Praying we win and someone does us a favour, wish me luck! TF
The favour came from Derby and we go up as champions, a brilliant turn around, Premier League here we come, will post a bit more of a season review later on! TF
Our fans player of the season went to Barry Douglas, with fellow defenders Pontus Jansson and Luke Ayling being the runners up. Our top goalscorer was Kemar Roofe, but disappointingly only with 12 goals. Phillips, Hernandez and Alioski all finished with 7 assists. Lewis Baker had a very good season for me, so we've made his transfer permanent for a fee of £4.7 Million. And this is how we lined up for the most part of the second half of the season, rotating Hernandez, Lasso and Saiz in the AM role. As well as Jota and Harrison and the AML IF role. Roofe, Bamford and Calvert-Lewin also rotated up top. If we were injury strickin we would normally play a 4-1-4-1 DM Wide with a Fluid Counter-Attack style of play. Am now looking at players available to bring in and keep us in the Premier League.

TF
The window slammed shut and I'm not sure whether I'm happy or not with the way it went. I'm happy as we have adequate cover in every position and I believe we have a squad worthy of at least staying in the league, but I'm not happy because I had some very good targets get away after interest from other clubs, so had to panic buy with the likes of Diarra, Hoban and Abate, just to ensure we had some experienced backup. Also unhappy with how hard it seemed to offload players, still got some deadwood in the U23s which I can't move on, so we may end up getting stung by FFP. Carlf788
Just started a Leeds save off myself. As a Newcastle fan I've always admired Leeds support and Leeds are my 2nd favourite English team. I want to get them competing with Chelsea and man united again and back into Europe! We had a rocky start losing 2-0 at Derby and 0-1 at home to Rotherham after saiz get sent off for a elbow after 20 minutes! Although we beat Stoke 2-1 in the first game. I haven't done too much in the market as the squad looks good but the board did sign me a good young Scottish centre half for £10 million but I can't remember his name at the moment. I'm hoping to make the playoffs or at least get close this season then use next summer to shape my squad and go up at the end of the second season at the latest. I also love how many rivals Leeds have! Edited November 17, 2018 by Carlf788
macca72
Quick update from me Season 1 - Won the league easy smashing all sorts of records (ended with 119 points). Knocked out of both cups at the quarters stage by PL opposition. Jan was a quiet month with the only signing this lad for £6.75m (release fee) - looks good and will be interesting to see how he develops. Star players were Klich, Marin, Oxford, Douglas who all turned in some great stats. Note to Bamford as well who got 22 goals. Also Jack Clarke who played understudy to Bamford managed to get himself 9 goals. Season 2 - Transfers so far are... Ins Moreira - Loan for a season until I get Brexit, couldn't get Rajkovic due to no WP so thought I'd hold off Lerma - Transfer listed at Bournemouth as, sadly, Cook is keeping him out of the team. Normally I'd be chasing cook like mad now but the AI finally seems to have realised he's ace. Souttar - Really please with this, especially if we get a hard Brexit, £15.75m was his release clause and he looks like he could be very, very good Stenga - Looks like a great prospect, can play right and left and is only young. £17.5m by todays money is a good investment. Gomez - I like to get a few foreign loans are they're not as risky as domestic ones (risky in the sense you can only have 2). Will see how he goes. West Ham are also in the process of letting me have Oxford for another year (End of season 3 it will be) so am really happy with my defensive options. Outs I'm ok with all of the outs but am regretting Alioski a bit as I'm chronically short out wide now. Pablo retired, which is a shame as he would've got cameos off the bench. Klich wanted some big wages and with only a year left I thought £7m was fair. Forshaw, Anita and De Bock are still to go as I'm going to give Ideguchi a rotation spot in the DM position as he looks quite handy. Any recommendations for wide players - am scouting like mad but struggling to turn up much, really need some in. I could also do with a top class striker but Origi won't talk to me and I can't get Haaland on loan either. EDIT: So basically I have circa £30m still left to spend as I'm balancing the books well. You are doing great. Awesome players in and a decent squad to tackle the EPL, plus cash in bank. All looks good to me.

Won 3 and drew 2 of the next 5 games and I was 4th after 8 games then it all fell apart! Went on a bad run and ended up 15th after 17 games and 10 points off the playoffs. I couldn't get a thing out of Samuel saiz at all and he was in the no10 role as his favoured role. Won away to Swansea 0-4 and Norwich 1-3 then lost at home to Birmingham and another lower team. Mardy
My line up and bench for season 2 and our first back in the prem. Extremely happy with transfers. Might have a shaky start with the influx of new players though!

Jambo_
My 2nd season in my Leeds save saw an impressive 7th placed finish in the Premier League, narrowly missing out on Europe. Tyler Roberts had a superb season, scoring 23 goals in 35 games and won European Golden Boy. Halfway through my 3rd season and sitting in 4th behind Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, my squad is as follows: GKs: Gerardo Oliva (19 yo Argentinian newgen signed for £10m from Independiente, already 1st choice with 5* potential), Bailey Peacock-Farrell LB: Tom Pearce, Barry Douglas CB: John Souttar, Liam Cooper, Jan Bednarek, Jake Cooper, Reece Burke RB: Ryan Nyambe, Jayden Bogle CM: Kalvin Phillips, Fabian Delph, Jonny Howson, Liam Henderson, Mateusz Klich RW: Patrick Roberts, Jarrod Bowen, Mike Owen (18 yo newgen from 1st youth intake, 4.5 gold * potential) CAM: Lovro Majer, Alex Pritchard LW: Ryan Kent, Gjanni Alioski ST: Erling Håland, Tyler Roberts, Jack Clarke, Toni Martinez I'm always keen to fill my team with young mainly British players (post Brexit) and develop them. Delph and Howson were both transfer listed fairly cheaply so I thought I'd bring them home, sadly Milner had already agreed a transfer. Alioski and Klich have both agreed transfers away in January so I definitely need to sign a LW (hoping Demarai Gray's wage demands go down, if not then Marlos Moreno is transfer listed at Man City). A CB is also high priority, Jamaal Lascelles is transfer listed after Newcastle got relegated but their asking price is currently £46m!! So am looking for a cheaper alternative. My best signing has to be Patrick Roberts, had him on loan in my 1st season in the PL and he was one of my top performers. His contract with Man City was up in June 2020 so I was able to pick him up on a free transfer. Erling Håland was a good signing too for £10m from RB Salzburg, Alfie was one of my favourite Leeds players as a kid in the late 90s so nice to have his son doing well for Leeds
