@Mike_THFC
Hi, Eugene. I've noticed you've given excellent advice on laptops. Kid Kash395
So I'm looking to buy a retina Macbook pro, but I'm undecided on whether it's worth it to up the processor from 2.6ghz i5 to a 2.8ghz i5 for the extra 70 odd pounds it'll cost me? Anyone have an opinion on this to help me decide?

Or do you reckon there's still a noticeable enough difference in the speeds to give it a go? The money's not an issue if I'll actually notice a difference, though if not it'd be a nice extra £70ish seeing as I am just a student spending the majority of my cash on this. Glenroy
Hi all, Just wondered if someone could give me some advice, well an explanation for the following. I have recently purchased:- http://www.ebuyer.com/666609-hp-pavilion-15-laptop-k0w62ea-abu Loaded FM up with graphics on high using dedicated graphics card, not gone for very high, extended highlights, a few top divisions and battery only lasts around 1hr, that's having removed all the adware and narrowed down the start up programs. I looked at Task Manager, showed little usage elsewhere but for FM it says I use lots of memory but not much CPU usage. I can understand the match engine sapping the battering but even when i am just flicking through contracts, squad stuff, club info etc the battery drains remarkably fast. Why is this? Many thanks in advance.
donut1638
Frankie 7 that looks like a great computer to play FM 15 on. You could spend less for a computer for FM tho, but that would be great for like the next 2 or 3 years, at the minimum.

Smurf
So I'm looking to buy a retina Macbook pro, but I'm undecided on whether it's worth it to up the processor from 2.6ghz i5 to a 2.8ghz i5 for the extra 70 odd pounds it'll cost me? Anyone have an opinion on this to help me decide? It would be slightly faster at processing, and it could overclock to a greater rate. So yes it would be worth it. I was in the same dilemma and had decided to go for the extra power. However I got given a year old 2.5 GHz non retina on a permanent 'loan' free from work. That is easy enough for 20 leagues on a small database. 20 leagues with a small database means there were will be lots of teams, and not enough players in the database to fill the teams. Although if you're happy with that then good. Hmm so 2.8ghz is more or less unnecessary? Or do you reckon there's still a noticeable enough difference in the speeds to give it a go? The money's not an issue if I'll actually notice a difference, though if not it'd be a nice extra £70ish seeing as I am just a student spending the majority of my cash on this. Get the 2.8ghz. Don't get a apple computer. Get a PC, they are better for games, and they are cheaper.http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops.../y-series/y40/ is good. Anything lenovo is decent. That's just rubbish advice. But it's also good advice. Anyway - there's nothing wrong with Macs for games - there's just more choice of games on PCs - but FM is PC and Mac compatible. We don't know why this person wants a Mac, perhaps they're doing a college course that has only Mac Software so they need a Mac. Lenovo is a good make of computer, but they aren't the only good make of computer, and with all makes of computers there are lower end models, and Lenovo have lower end models. But the truth is, spend as much on a custom made PC then then you'll get more value than buying a Mac. It's true that you pay a premium when buying a Mac. considering this unit http://www.very.co.uk/hp-envy-15-j142na-intelreg-coretrade-i7-processor-8gb-ram-1tb-hard-drive-laptop-silver/1406194239.prdHP Envy 15-j142na Intel® Core™ i7 Processor, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb Hard Drive, Laptop - Silver - £729 intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ processor Windows 8.1 8Gb RAM 1Tb SATA hard drive 8Gb NAND SSD 15.6 inch LED-backlit display (1920 x 1080) Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M (2Gb dedicated) Intel 802.11ac (2x2) WiFi, Bluetooth™ 4.0 Webcam Beats Audio™ with 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers 1x HDMI; 4x USB 3.0; multi-format card reader Weight: 2.19 kg HP Envy 15-j142na laptop - Silver Thoughts? Footix
I haven't really decided on anything. I was thinking something like the ASUS Zenbook UX32LN; i7 4510, 8 GB RAM, an SSD and GeForce GT840M. I don't play anything but FM though, so I don't know if that graphics card is really necessary. It's about £780, things are rather expensive over here (I don't live in the UK).
