Administrators Neil Brock Posted September 16, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 16, 2015 Always find this a good website to compare processors - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmark-List.2436.0.html Depending if you want to play in 2D or 3D, integrated graphics generally aren't good for gaming, certainly not in 3D. Forest
Hey there, I´m searching a new laptop (price should be not over 1500 euros) only to play FM. MichaelNgoo
Hi guys, my current laptop runs FM14 at half a star and considering FM is the main reason I use the laptop I'd love to be able to run a fast game for once, so am looking to upgrade for FM15. I'm looking to have 8-12 countries loaded, I generally only watch Key Highlights on matches so the 3D system isn't really that important to me. For reference, my current laptop is a Celeron that runs at 1.10ghz with 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. The ones I'm currently looking at: Toshiba L70 - i5 dual core processor, Runs at 2.2ghz, 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drive - AMDRadeon R7 M260 graphics card - £420 Toshiba L50D - AMD A8-6410 quad core processor, Runs 2.0ghz, 8GB RAM, and 1TB hard drive - AMDRadeon R5 M230 graphics card - £350 HP Pavilion 15 - AMD A8-7410 APU quad core processor, Runs at 2.2ghz, 8GB RAM, and 1TB hard drive - AMDRadeon HDAMD Radeon R5 Graphics card - £350 HP 17-p000na - AMD a6-6310m quad core processor, Runs at 2.4ghz, 8GB RAM, and a 1TB hard drive - AMD radeon r4 graphics card - £380 Which one do you think would run FM best? Which one is the best value for money? And at an estimate at which star rating do you think the game would run at?

Welshace
It's fairly overkill for what you've said there, but it will certainly last you a while performance wise... I'm using a laptop from 6 years ago for gaming currently and it keeps up easily with almost anything I throw at it.. and for a laptop the same spec these days, you could close to half your budget. Mystic_Defender
So im finally getting a new lappy for the imminent release of FM16 and here it is - http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/L70/L75D-A7283 Couple of quick questions i have though for the tech wizards in and around here. 1.How many leagues/nations would i be able to load up to play comfortably thus causing not too much slowness. 2.What would be an ideal setup in terms of what specific countries to play in. 3.What do you think of this computer in general? Decent enough specification? Thanks for the advice here guys.
forameuss
Laptop seems good enough, but 1 and 2 are completely subjective. "Not too much slowness" is massively open, and there's no "ideal setup" you can have. All depends where you want to play.

Spurs44
Hi, I have been looking at getting a new laptop since before FM15. My current one does the job okay but I have the settings low on everything. Now I've been going back and forwards to PC world and the little bit of knowledge I've gained from all my ''research'' is they're overpriced. So I've spent the last 6-8 months searching online. I cannot afford a top end gaming laptop and my budget is £700 max. Can anybody let me know if the Laptop I've found is as good as I'm likely to get for the price? Or If I can get better for less money? Any and all help would be appreciated. http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/59437791-Lenovo-Y50-70_1693075.html Thanks
mike143
Has anyone had any experience of playing Football Manager on either the Surface 3 or Surface Pro 3? If so, how does it play? I am potentially interested in purchasing the Surface Pro 4 that was released yesterday http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/pdp/productID.326546100 but am a big fan of football manager so wouldn't want to purchase the device if this wasn't going to be able to run on it? Considering the i5 with either 4GB or 8GB of ram, would 4GB be enough? To add to this, i prefer to play with 2D matches, have a large database loaded, and have multiple nations selected. Apart from microsoft office , youtube , and internet browsing that's all I need of it. My cap is 300 , I just want it to run well , I don't mind if it's refurbished but it needs warranty. DermotLavezzi
Okay I've narrowed it down to four laptops. Again all I'm asking is out of these four which is the best value for money and will be able to run football manager 16 effectively. Regardless of the price on Amazon, all of these are 270€ from Tesco except for the Samsung which I would be buying online but is refurbished with only 30 days warranty. I personally would rather buy it new than refurbished especially with it coming from UK and only having 30 days warranty just for the ease of mind but if the value is that substantial to take a risk on it I'd love to know as I could maybe organise a warranty extension. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-15-6-Inch-Celeron-Processor-Bluetooth/dp/B00SU3SB6E - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Inspiron-14-Inch-Notebook-Celeron/dp/B00T9RRVAM - http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/pre-owned-grade-t2-samsung-400b4b-core-i5-2550m-4gb-500gb-14-inch-dvdsm-win-tr-5-458/version.asp - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-Satellite-C50D-B-120-15-6-inch-Notebook/dp/B00LFL8OL0 -

The Samsung has a much better processor than the others, you'd probably be paying £400+ for something similar new.
DermotLavezzi
Unfortunately somebody purchased the Samsung laptop that you recommended. I currently have a Dell Latitude E5420 . These are the specs " Can you Run It " told me. " Intel® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz Manufacturer: Intel Speed: 2.4 GHz Category: Mainstream Generation: 9th Brand: Core i5 2nd Gen Cores: 2 Everything is okay but it says dedicated vram needed for football manager 2015 is 128mb but I only have 64mb. Will it matter that much? How do I improve it also?
Kelron
Dedicated VRAM is the memory that's available for the graphics card only. Laptops typically have integrated graphics which have very low amounts of dedicated memory. It's not usually something you can upgrade, however I'm not sure it's an essential requirement in this case. Going by your specs there it doesn't sound like any of those laptops would be a worthwhile upgrade. Do you have FM15 already to test it, or can you download the demo? Best thing to do is see if it works for yourself.
