Due to the fact that the clan and its supporters are so shocking at sniffing out the value! Season 3's betting odds will be the most generous offered yet. Its early days yet in our netgame for the new season as were in preseason, but the market is being assessed, and a comprehensive new list od odds for the forthcoming campaign will be available shortly! The Bookies very rarely get it wrong but with all the movement in managers more thought must be made as all bets are on Clubs , so if the team u fancy has a gypsy gaffer think carefully about spending any wonga! The Clan Bookies is a non profitable fund and all the monies (Over £100 NOW!) will be pumped back into the clan for the next meet up. Thanksto all the guys and lassy, who have supported the fund and thanks for ur continued support and interest. Good luck in Season 3 and happy betting!icon_smile.gif

THE SCOTTISH CLAN SEASON 2 SUMMARY FROM HOST - 2 MOVE OR NOT 2 MOVE THAT IS THE QUESTION!!

MOVE v.(cause to) change in place, position, or attitude; change one's residence; provoke an emotion in; take action; put to a meeting for discussion. - n. act of moving or calculated action a MOVER - or Scot Clan speak a GYPO B@STARD! there's also Movement but we wont go into Bod's bowel habits!

Well thats another season over accept there was not much change in place - mondays & thursdays 8pm till 12pm. A lot of change in residence ( the duds who have been sacked), emotions provoked as always ( especially when PM threw his rattle after Sneeky Sav tried to pinch his starlets) and yes the Clan are meeting soon for a discussion as well as fitba, bevvy kebabs and a good pagger by the look of things! One things for sure, after 2 season's our netgame is definately moving, with most gaffers heading north, and the odd few duds south, in the wrong direction!

Its fair to say that the current patch has accelerated the movement of managers. In 2 season's the CM caravan has been in overdrive around all corners of Scotland. Sure the chance to go to a bigger club is more fun but its not really realistic is it? especially in the short time limit of only 2 seasons! Gone are the days of earning a chance to manage at a higher level. There are many reasons for a manager to jump ship, Ambition, Glory, Better Squad, Money, Boredom but it all adds up to GYPO no matter what dictionary u read. Amazingly some gaffers have moved clubs 4 or 5 times in 2 short seasons with some clan gaffers having more Clubs than Ian Woosnam's Caddie! Things never stand still in our Scottish Netgame, everyone is moving.

Strangely tho some gaffers are moving the other way. You know the diddy gaffers, the crappy ones who havny a clue and get found out. In two short years we have had a few casualties which was to be expected due to the competitive and compact nature of the netgame. It comes as no surprise tho, that the usual culprits are culpable and have recieved the P45 (Ally Shaw, Gaz Toner, Sy & Coisty). Cream always rises to the top and the sh¡te always floats to the bottom. The game goes on though and things are always moving.....

Of the 16 gaffers thats started the netgame. One has retired (Tracy due to work shifts). Four crappy gaffers have been sacked (Coisty, Sy,Ally & Gaz). And only 3 gaffers remain at the clubs they started with (Turps, Deano & Tam). The rest have either jumped ship, went on to pastures new or are in a perpetual cycle of Gyponess. Its fun tho all this movement even if u end up @ Stirling Albion! The other Clan gaffers are either currently in transition, struggling with their insecurities are looking for that perfect move...

So who are the big movers in the netgame? well racing ahead is Clan number one Bod who after 2 years looks set to establish himself in the SPL after securing the 1st Division Championship in season 2. Other big movers are Sav and his Airdrie side who won the League Cup and played in the UEFA Cup in season2. Yours truly is also a mover securing the Scottish Cup and european qualification with Forfar in season 2. And dont forget the Division champion movers like Gaz and his Gretna side who won Division 3. PM7 and his Red Lichties who won the 2nd Division. Other movements in season 2 have included Tam's promotion from the 3rd Division to the 2nd with East Stirling and Sav's promotion to Division 1 with Airdrie.

The Scots Clan are moving into season 3 now. Jimbhoy has returend after moving house. And Sy and Coist are awol allegedly moving house also (evicted more like)! Bod will contest the SPL as the solitary human gaffer. Division 1 should be the most exciting league with 6 Clan gaffers ( Turps,Chris,Dogs,Deano,Sav & PM7). Thers only 1 up to the SPL so it will be a very hard challenge for all involved. Division 2 looks a descent proposition as the lagging Clan gaffers desperately try and move up and catch the top teams in the Clan. Turps's Forfar are playing in Europe and there's a small matter of 3 Cup's to play for which is always interesting.

The 1st few season's of any longterm project are usually slow and and frustrating but things are moving along quicker now, and most Clan gaffers have a settled side or idea of where their clubs are moving to. Theres plenty of regens emerging now and some gaffers even have some money to spend! Yes Money it does exsist! Some SPL clubs are in reach of the main Clan movers and I guess this is where everyone wants to move too. So good luck to everyone in season 3's journey and no matter what direction your heading!

Cya tonight for another season of fun!

Glorious Gretna Claim Title

In a very close run title race Gretna came out on top by the space of FOUR goals, that's right another close finish for the 3rd division title this season just like last season when Stirling and Montrose battled it out only to be split by one goal on the final day of the season.

Gretna took full advantage as East stirling's players basically bottled it going into the final furlong where as Gretna claimed all 5 wins despite some scary moments against Stranraer and Cowdenbeath. It is a wonderful achievment considering Toner only took over the reigns at Raydale park less than 15 months ago after being dumped by over ambitous Dumbarton, since then many gaffers have found the 'mighty' sons less than desirable while Toner has taken Gretna from strenght to strenght.

A player who has proved to be a valuble assest after being purchased earlier in the season from Cowdenbeath for a fee around the £7k mark, the Swedish hitman has fired his side to glory and fired his way into the hearts of Gretna fans everywhere and his partnership with cult hero Martin Cameron was second to none.

For next season well who knows? We are a ambitous club and will be looking to make an impact on the 2nd division what kinda of impact you ask? we'll only time can tell.

Due to the fact we are a few bods Down ( wishfull thining) its a good chance to try out some fresh meat in the Clan Game. Jim has rejoined and filled Tracy's vacant place. Coist and Sy cant play atm and if Jeff does not show on thurs, he is getting retired as his commitment stinks ( He wonders why he was not invited at the start). As a result a cupple of Scots noobs will be joining next week on trial for season 3, to see if they can cut it in the CLan. Andy Jones form the Sunday CLan will be joining us on Monday & Baz Gunn on thurs. They can have any team in Division 3 and will hopefully give Ghod & Jim a good challenge in season 3. If they do well and are reliable and contribute, then their Clan wings will be appointed at the next meet up. Andy is a wee Hun & Baz supports the Sheep. This will address the Taigs Biast in the Clan & I am sure u will all make them feel welcome, as only the Scots Lads know how ! ###

LOONS SEASON 3 - READ ALL ABOUT IT! - LET THE UEFA GAMES BEGIN!

Another season is upon us and another dawn in this small club's history rises. Forar have drawn Lokomotiivi Tbilisi of Georgia in the qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. Only a handfull of Beetrooteating internationalists are in the way of perhaps drawing a Euro big gun to lowly Station Park. No one expects the Loons to do anything, so everyone at the club is just going to enjoy the experience and try and do their bit for Scotland. It is true that this seasons Division 1 league campaign is the most important, and everything will be done to compete and hopefully clinch the solitary promotion spot to the SPL. Its a tough challenge though, bigger clubs like Motherwell and Clyde are also in contention and have strengthened accordingly. Dont forget Falkirk & St Johnstone are in there as well, and the other 3 human gaffers in the Clan will be Bullish about their prospects also.

The club is ready however, and preseason has went well, with the squad looking sharp and ready to start off like they finished last season. A few new 1st team faces have joined to strengthen the 1st team pool, but on the whole Loyal gaffer Turps has stayed loyal to his young winning side, and looks to the youth team for future stars. A few more regens have been hoovered and the reserve side and u19 team is brimming with talent waiting for their chance to impress. With 4 Cups to play for a lot of them will be bled, and see 1st team action. Biggest move in the preseason was the signing of 'model' proffessional and new skipper DC Ian Hughes from Huddersfield. The experienced Welsh stopper will replace young DC David Lowing who was controversially sold to rivals Airdrie for a nominal fee. We wish Lowz, all the best and the experience Hughsie will bring will bolster the defence and hopefully he can settle and adapt to the system and prove a shrewd aquisition in place of the departed Lowing. A club record £275k transfer was payed for Portuguese starlet Bruno Gama. A player Turps new well and has worked with before, hopefully he will be a great signing, in the years to come. The other main signing was Joel Kitamirike the Ugandan Right back signed on a free for Chelsea. 'Billy' as heez know known to his new team mates, will push the aging Lito and everpresent John Barclay for the right wingback position, after he recovers form a terrible pre season injury!

Well the 1st competitive game of the season has been played and gaffer Turps was delighted to be paired with old rival Jim Hastie on his return to Scottish Football with new club Alloa, Despite the 2 clubs being of similar size and debatably alloa bigger, Hasties 1st game in charge would on paper be a hard proposition in the 1st round of the Challenge Cup. The Scottish Cup Holders at home wasted no time getting tore into the visitors, but is was Alloa who were the dirtiest injuring 'Billy' Joel's knee ligaments in the 7th minute. Some robust and plucky defending denied the pacy Loons attack on many occastions as Alloa were pummeled with the 20 chances created to Alloas 1 on target. Eventually Forfars superior fitness and pace payed off and the deadlock was broken with 5 goals scored in the last half hour. Alloa's defence simply capitulated and had no answer to the pace and power of the Loons attack. Like their new gaffer Alloa's Anthony Loughran had a total stinker and the habitual greeting started much to the amusement of the Loons management team. It was great to get a good win under our belts ahead of the tricky league and euro campaign. The 5-0 drubbing of Alloa was a great morale booster, and felt like old times........alas, if only we could could 'cheat' and play them every week... now that would be something to read in the forums! Shame we wont be seeing those loosers for a while icon_wink.gif

***********NEWS******************

Two new signings will be at Airdrie this season, Scott Mclean who has worked under Robertson at Stirling and David Lowing from Forfar. Both players will add that little bit more depth to the squad that has filled up nicely. We are also happy to see a few impressive youngsters coming through the youth system and hopefully they can get some first team experience.

Airdrie now just have to concentrate in staying up in this division while tying to fill a few places with a better class of player. If I can upset a few of the better teams in this division I’ll be happy, hopefully we can have a say on who will be going to the spl.

I’ll leave the kids for the rest, signing 30 plus kids for the future is all fine and great but I’ll leave the youth development to handle itself. I don’t know some managers have a unhealthy interest in small boys.

It will take a full season to evaluate the team I have right now in the first and find any weakness that needs addressed.

Pre-season seems to have went well with the highlight of beating hearts 2-1

******************************************

Always nice to see new faces in the clan, and I hope they get the same amount of fun out it as the rest of us, plus it will make Div3 not so boring this season, I look forward to seeing who they will take charge of. icon_smile.gif

So that’s a BAZ , a GAZ, anyone know a Daz? icon_eek.gif

P.S

Congratulations dog’s on your announcement!

Gaz took over a club late and promoted them..

I took the worst club in Britain and promoted them.

WE HAVE PROVED OURSELVES

We fought hard for what we achieved we earned PROMOTION

WE ARE ENTITLED TO HAVE BRAGGING RIGHT'S

If I read another post stating how a club appointed a new "boss" due to how "great" they were Im gonna puke...truth is only very few..and I mean VERY few earned the right.

If there was a smidgen of decency or honour in these guy's they would all go back to the 3rd and PROVE their worth...but thats never gonna happen.

Good luck in the new season Gaz, you deserve to be there, and it wont be much longer till your moving up. I know that for a fact.

Well I have swapped clubs but only after fighting it out and winning the third title in the first season, and when I got the offer of the Airdrie job (too good to pass up) it was in the same division and took them to promotion in my second season.

Will I jump again, probably not I want to get promoted from every division and if it takes a few seasons with the diamonds I’m cool with that. With everyone working to build up their squads only the usual suspects will be on the move.

I think the record for clubs is five is it not, with one manager leaving and then returning to his previous club which I thought was pure class within a season.

Your feeble slander and attempt to undermine the Loons exceptional players is hilarious Jimbo! just like ur favourite club in ur manager Profile....rofl. Thot u were big Taig anyway? now yer a sheep fan haha.. says a lot about u that does, only in my humble opinion of course icon_wink.gif

You'll note PM7 making contributions in the thread.

2hrs in the game I'm hardly likely to offer much opposition to your all conquering Loons - have you won anything so fa?

As the OF are out of bounds I chose another club as this may have an effect on job offers.

Aberdeen are only the biggest club outwith the OF not that they are ever gonna see any glory again. And yes the Loons won Division 2 in season 1 and the Scottish Cup last year, means Feck aw tho. That 5-0 drubbing against Alloa in the last session was the sweatest of them all icon_smile.gif
